But did you play THE FARMER flash game as kid?

Spiritfarer helped me deal with the death of my sister. It is the hardest game to play when facing death, but it helps a lot. Sims helped too. And Stardew Valley. But Spiritfarer is the one I recommend the most for dealing with grief.Thanks for your great summary. My favorite farm game of all time is definitely My Time at Portia. I loved it so much.

I'm glad RF5 was in this list. While I can understand the complaints, it has the classic RF formula which is why we love playing it to begin with.

I personally love Wylde Flowers! It's such a great game. The story is so interesting and there's a lot of suspense while you can also relax and craft witchy potions and learn spells etc. :)

I definitely feel like Kynseed has been passed over because it's labelled as a farm sim when it's really more of a life sim. It's gorgeous and I need to play more. THE MINIGAMES. THE COOKING.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but I've read comments that Spiritfarer can be stressful or overwhelming like when you're buried in everyday tasks. Would you say that's true? The game looks amazing, but the last thing I want in a game is the stress of real life.

I wouldn’t say it’s more stressful than Graveyard Keeper or Stardew. However, I did find it to be bittersweet and even sad. Overall a unique experience for me that I won’t forget.

@@awetistic5295 no no. It's not stressful at all. The everyday task is very easy to do and cozy and can also feel very rewarding. And taking care of the spirits on your ship can be very fun. It's just veeeery bittersweet when you have to let them move on to the afterlife. To me it's a life changing game. Give it a try when you have a chance someday. 😊

It’s good, but the Switch version sucks unfortunately. Unless it was fixed it has a memory leak problem where the game will eventually freeze and crash with graphical bugs.

Dragon quest builder 2 is one of my top 5 games of all time. How this game isn't more popular I don't know. It's fantastic!

Because people are salty. Comparing it to Minecraft. It’s a block building game. But I personally prefer this over Minecraft. I played the dragon quest builders 1 as well, and the upgrade is kind of insane in builders two, you can do so much more in it.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is basically a perfect game. Fluid combat, great graphics, animal companions, and infinite creativity. It has been the game I’ve spent the most hours playing two years in a row!

Farm Together is my favourite farming game. It’s less RPG, more farming, which may or may not be for you, but it’s worth checking out.

So happy to see Dragon Quest Builders in this one! I would have to add Harvestella in my list, though it's less farming and more of everything else! Great video!

@@MissBubbles I think Harvestella propably falls more into the Atelier of category. It's basicially a timed RPG where you have to provide for yourself for an successful dungeon run.

I love how much variety you included in this list!! 😊 Happy you're doing well and back to making prerecorded videos. Not that I don't enjoy lives, I just don't always have time or I'm not around when they're actually live. Lol Anywho, gonna definitely have to try that last game! It looks like LoZ meets Minecraft meets Terraria meets farming sim. 😂

A bit older now, and a bit oddball, but Sakuna of rice and ruin is an interesting take on the farm sim genre, mixing a platform action beat em up alongside an in-depth growing simulator dealing with growing rice that gives the player buffs based on how well you grow the rice that season.

Have you tried Starbound yet? It has a cool plot, some farming, customising your character and it's own space ship while exploring new planets for resources. There are so many planets to explore, with loads of different biomes (many offering unique crafting recipes) and surprises along the way. Even when you are done with the main storyline, there's so many critters and items to collect, crewmates to befriend, bases to build - maybe even build your own space station?

My all time favorite farming game is Farm Together. Not only did I fall in love with it, but I've also made some good Steam friends by visiting their farms. It has such a friendly community.

Yayy I love DQB since it was on a PS VITA. DQB2 was the reason I bought a Switch. I really love it and think it's a cozy game but people don't really put it on their cozy list.

What a list! Trio of Towns is certainly on my list, and Sun Haven's next up on my backlog - but now I can't wait to try Kynseed, too. I heard so little about it after release that I figured it hadn't lived up to the hype, but I surely trust your opinion well enough to give it a go! The generation system alone must be worth checking out.

Nice video, thanks for the upload. The older I get, the more I enjoy cozy games. I catch myself playing these even more than TOTK (I work full-time and TOTK is just really overwhelming because of its size, functions, possibilities and endless enemies and combat; I just can't spend the time I would need in Hyrule). Currently I'm really into "Grow: Song of the Evertree". I'm glad you like this one too. My newest addition is "Everdream Valley". As in "Grow", there's no rush, no push. Take your time at your own pace. But some NPCs or a town are just missing there. It's a bit empty. But still enjoyable.

@@MissBubbles Thank you. I just checked that one out. All valid points you mentioned there. I DO miss some kind of town. But then again I can play "My Time At Portia" or "Grow: Song of the Evertree" whenever I feel the need to visit a town 🙂 I think the game is definitely worth a buy. With the discount currently it's a really fair price. Even though some controls are a bit clunky and sometimes random on the switch (I accidently keep hitting and chopping trees instead of picking up the wood on the ground).

I really loved Dragon Quest Builders 2. I really hope we have a third installment and that it also includes a PC version as they did with the second one.

Probably my favourite video from this channel, should be used as a reference for anyone looking for farming games to play. 😊👍

Kynseed looks so fun! I wish it would be on the switch

For a long time, I have been looking for a Cozy Game where the game focuses on raising pets. It has the usual elements: adventure, discovery, survival, DIY, construction, farming, etc. There are games like this, but the care system is not satisfactory enough. I mean a small animal that hatches from an egg and develops next to you. In the meantime, you have a big responsibility to keep him alive: feed him, clean him, clean his poop, teach him, raise him, heal him, sleep him and keep him alive, and you can watch him grow thankfully and visibly. Does such a game exist?

There are so many amazing games that either adore or can't wait to play. Of course Rune Factory 5 and Story of Seasons are in the adore section but I would really love to play games like Grow: Song of the Evertree and Littleroot one day

Triple town for 3ds looks so nice, i feel like it deserve a remake for switch! Littlewood was such a blast to play, i love it, it's so relaxing and nothing can go wrong. Great list! However i feel like we're overwhelmed by this genre and usually they takes quite a lot of hour to feel like you are "finished" with the game. They're very appealing tho ^^ My personnal favorite is rune factory ocean/tides of destiny! i was super obsessed on the ps3, i fished like crazy in it x)

Dragons Quest Builders2, Dragon Quest Treasures and Dragon Quest Monsters 2 are some of my favorite chill games ever. They’re so much fun and they’re not stressful and definitely not boring. I get a little bored with straight farming/life sims. I’m already married with a kid so I don’t wanna do that in a video game too lol I want a little action, crafting, some skill trees, anything. The My Time At series are excellent. Wylde Flowers wasn’t really my style but the game was a lot more fun that I thought. Far Farm was ok and Disney Dreamlight Valley drained my time and bank account and I have 0 regrets lol. There’s some really fun ones and now. Roots of Pacha is GREAT!

See I really got into Harvest Moon: A New Beginning on the 3DS, more so than Trio of Towns. I played the heck out of that game! I am VERY excited for Fantasy Life 2 when hopefully it releases in summer.

Yeah out of the games mentioned here's my opinion of the ones I've played- SDV- This game pretty much got me into the farming sim and indie game genre. I can NOT help but compare other Farming sims I've played to it. I always end up marrying Elliott and I do appreciate all of the additions Concerned Ape has added (and he's about to add another update lol) over the years. For sure I plan on getting Haunted Chocolatier when it comes out lol. Spiritfarer- Definitely love this game, I just replayed it on the Switch again lol. It's definitely very deep. I've had to deal with death from a very young age (you can thank a few 80s kids movies for that *looks at Land Before Time in particular*) and I lost my grandma when I was 12 (watching her slowly die from Cancer really had an effect on me). So I could handle all of the stories, but I'll admit, the one that affected me the most Alice (she's my 2nd fav after Gustav). Rune Factory- I've yet to finish this game. I loved it at first, but then there were things I noticed that I wasn't a huge fan of. Like the farming, yeah it's too complex for my taste and even though do get animals that can water your crops, it just felt like a chore to take care of them, it just wasn't streamlined for me. Also the pacing is so slow, like a full day can take over an hour. I know I can also go to sleep early, but I felt like I was doing the same routine day after day. I will say though that I do love the chars. I do plan on going back and finishing it, but I doubt I'll get another Rune Factory game after this, no matter how hot the chars are. One game you mentioned that I definitely will be getting though is Sun Haven. I am surprised you didn't mention how there's no stamina lol. I am playing My Time in Sandrock and I really am enjoying it, but I still wonder if I want to get My Time in Portia, purely because people have said Sandrock improves on Portia's shortcomings so I don't know if I want to play a game where the gameplay isn't as good as Sandrock's.

Oh yeah good shout! Yes, Sunhaven has no stamina which is awesome haha. Sometimes it's hard to get all points out when making a list video so thank you for sharing so others can see this comment! As for Portia, I mean if you have time to dig into it, then do (it's a massive game, we're talking easy 60+ hour investment), if not, then I would stick to Sandrock

Virtuele chores are somehow always better. And most of the time instant rewarding :p

Your clever chapters are great! Clear enough to skip back later but no spoilers Disagree on Rune Factory though, to me RF4S is leagues beyond RF5, although I love them both

Stardew Valley for it's coziness and comforting factor of 10 and it's endless playthrough possibilities. Want to do a playthrough without buying seeds? Say no more, you can. Want to play as a rancher? You can do that too. How about building a pickle and jam empire?

Stardew, Potion Permit, Roots of Pacha, RF5, and SoS: PoOT are my 10/10.

I like Farm Games that have romance and story

I've played a few of these. Eversong was nice. Graveyard Keeper is great fun. But I do have a problem with most of the genre -- two problems really. First, I do not like pixel art. The stylistic movement of the up/down/up/down makes me queasy. My eyesight is bad enough that pixel art just blurs together. I really prefer other graphic styles. Secondly, I don't want to play a child. Most of these characters look like children, even when they're supposedly adults romancing, getting married, etc. A farming/life sim can be adult. Verdant Skies is an example, which is good but just couldn't hold me. So I didn't really find a farming/cozy game that satisfied. Until now. To channel the Eve Online ad: "This game... I wasn't ready for it." And that would be Coral Island. Anybody wanting to play it, please go in blind and play until Day 6 before watching any tips or playthrough vids. With a backstory of an oil company trying to take over a failing resort town (kinda), yeah, your relatives left you the farm, but that's not the plot. And I can't go much deeper without spoilers, which start about Day 6. The cut scenes are excellent, the characters are fun and they do NOT repeat lines. There's the standards of farming, ranching, fishing, festivals and collecting (bugs, artifacts, fish, critters, and more), cooking, complex crafting chains, home decoration...all the good stuf. The map is not huge, but it crams stuf in everywhere without the hideous clutter of 2D pixel art. There's underwater exploration as we try to clean up the environment after an oil spill. I lived in Florida during BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster, so the whole theme of Coral Island just resonates. I'm sure you've played it, particularly since this vid is 10 months old, but I've found your channel recently and am really enjoying your content.

So glad to see Dragon Quest Builders 2. Best game also for me absolutely love it. Needs to be played by more people it does contain a very long story took me about 80hours to finish it and I've clocked nearly 200 hours on the game once you complete it you essential get creative mode but done in a special way where yout fellow villagers will help you gather grow materials 10/10 game for me

I went into Stardew Valley a HUGE fan of the Harvest Moon series. I bought game systems to play Harvest Moon. And now Stardew Valley is my favorite farming game. Dragon quest builders 2 is one of my all time favorite games, top five at least- I don’t want dragon quest builders 3 though, I want dragon quest builders 2 2 lol. But for real I would want to continue the story in 2 and maybe ***spoiler*** save your monster friends who got stuck in Malhalla. I love Malroth and wouldn’t want another dqb game without him, but if they follow the same trend they have done with the first two games, dqb3 would be if you got a bad ending in dq3.

Stardew Valley was recommended to me so much, but after 4-5 restarts the last years , I still dont get into it. I really woul love to have a mor Casual Farming sim for PC. I need to check Palia.

Playing RF5 now. Great game, but purchased on SWITCH. Dragon Quest Builders 3 for the win.

I don’t know how big of a DQ fan you are, but I agree with DQB3, but not for the reason you say. DQB3 based on DQ3 would be amazing, don’t get me wrong, but… I want a DQB4! With the Switch releasing DQ Monsters and get to play as one of my favorite characters ever, and he is a young Psaro. The thought with DQB4 is that I can play as a builder Psaro for evil campaign. Then I can be a good builder for good campaign. It would be so awesome. DQB4 would be based on DQ4.

how about farming simulator 19 or 22. it looks relaxing too, but is it way too simulation for the genre ? (but yeah maybe its more like lawn mower simulator out there -lol)

In the DEBATE regarding "what is a cozy game" after playing hard core MMO's for many years, like WOW & FF14, I think I can simplify this for content creators working on a definition. If your items & life are "at risk", if there is any PVP, and if there are forced DPS checks (damage per second that you can dish out on an enemy) than that game is NOT COZY, no matter what anyone says. Adrenaline junkies insist on playing "AT RISK" content. Everything is at risk, you can die and lose everything you own or everything in your backpack. You can come home and your entire house and plot are destroyed or taken over by other hostile players. You are forced into PVP either all the time or in any area where the good resources exist. You DIE. You are constantly on a timer or run on extremely limited resources. And only the top 1% of hard core raiders are allowed to see final content and receive all of the best gear and prizes in the game. And in FF14 you face a "DPS check" in every game segment. If you can not slaughter every enemy they throw at you in a very short time, that is it, your game is over, you can not progress or go into the next expansion until you prove your killing/fighting skills to their expectations. If any of these factors exist, it is not a cozy game.

I am currently playing the crap out of Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town and Stardew Valley.

The My Time at games are not really farming games. Yes, it has farming, but it's a tiny piece and if you're interested for the farming you're gonna be disappointed.

why is Rune Factory 5 here but not 4? (objectively 4 is better for their characters, story, gameplay and more. not to mention it doesn't have a vastly empty overworld that you can walk for 20 seconds (irl time) without seeing anything .-.

Cause RF5 > RF4 for me.

Trio of Towns is my favourite HM/SoS game, I played like a million times :) But I didn't like Rune Factory 5 very much; it's a good game, but after 4 speciel, it was a little lackluster for me. However I already preordered the 3 remake, the original is my second favourite RN :3 And I have just one problem with Sun Haven.... I HATE the character sprites :( Maybe there is a mod, or something...? I love pixelart games, but in so many of them, the background is beautiful, but the characters are ugly :/

@@MissBubbles I like the design, except the characters ^^" But I'm willing to try it, cause I did see some videos, and it looks interesting :) However now I play Stardew Valley the second time (and the first time I played the vanilla game, now with all updates and Expanded), so SH have to wait a few... months? :D

so Coral Island and Witch of Fern Island aren't here due to early access reasons? Because especially for Coral Island I can see it overtaking the genre crown from Stardew Valley once it is finished.

❤hello miss Bubbles! I love 💕 all my farming games, n is in the process of getting all my cartridges in the full including all of my downloads content! How ever I don’t like the fighting in some of the farming games? Maybe 😢one day they’ll make a farming games like the ones I play on my 3DSXZl and the few I’ve found on my switch & switch lite, I finally found my Gameboy and Gameboy Advance n I will be getting all of my games in the complete content with the downloadable content! Then I’ll be happy with my games! Laetittia 🧑🏽‍🦳🍹🎮
