I see Laranity's scheme here. She's trying to influence as many community members as possible into liquidating their materials and currencies so that the prices of materials plummet with the sudden influx of supply. Then the gold barons will swoop in and buy up all the cheap materials at lower than usual prices until the market stabilizes again and resell them all for normal prices for profit. Then all the gold barons will owe Laranity favors because she gave them all such a windfall. She'll call in these favors in her bid to conquer Tyria and enslave the player-base. You heard it here first. Laranity is going to be the new Villain in the next Guild Wars 2 expansion.

Really good video! I think most of these are at least somewhat familiar to the more experienced players, but especially for newer players it's nice to have an overview of which currencies are worth something and easy to convert. And hey, I bet there's plenty of people around who are sitting on a treasure trove's worth of Tyrian Defense Seals 😂

back when we had the daily DRM, I farmed them HEAVILY for the tokens cause I *immediately* saw the value of them since you can get material boxes with a currency that has basically no other use... tyrian defense seals don't dip into your magic, your gold, or *any* other currency type making them ideal to grind for material boxes, to that end don't sleep on the Jade Sliver module for the jadebot, if you do a LOT of open world or plan on story playing a new alt that you boosted to 80, put a jade sliver module on them and just go

do you per chance know whether or not the jade sliver module also converts the valuable junk to slivers? I am thinking of e.g. Crystallized ley-energy from ley line anomaly, or Shiny Baubles from HoT maps, etc.

@@erisvipera7552 it's not supposed to convert valuable junk to slivers so baubles should be safe, secondarily items derived from bags don't seem to convert either regardless of value so they're not **perfect** I've noticed if you're sliver grinding put it on a char you plan on doing core tyria world clear with, most of the junk is useless and direct drops, so they often (but not always) go straight to slivers. and do Tequatal, if you get the junk spoon drop it's a ridiculous amount of slivers.

I love the simplicity and basic explanation given here. So many videos on how to make money in GW2 give you the first step about converting a currency into some item but then don't tell me what to do with those items or where to do it...I wouldn't be watching a video like this if I knew how valuable that stuff was in the first place so I appreciate you saying "convert this currency into crafting materials and then list them on the TP. Make sure not to buy and sell instantly to maximize profits." That's so basic but if you don't know you don't know. You got my sub.

according to gw2efficiency, I have like 2k gold in my bank *cough* but I'm such a hoarder, constantly thinking I might need the stuff later for legendaries and stuff so I don't sell anything off :D maybe I should ... Thanks for another excellent video, Lara. Interesting overview :)

Hey Lara, just a Niche thing for your Spirit Shard Problem, in the Fractals one of the Vendors ( Same that sells the Ad Infinitum Pres) sells Spirit shards for Fractal relics, if you ever need that info, keep up the good work

Yknow what, this actually kinda makes me wanna do DRMs just for the defense seals because I need mats for Astralaria. Thanks for letting me see the up side of doing DRMs!

I never even noticed the 1000s of Tyrian Defense Seals I'd gotten from the Dragonstorm meta, thanks for pointing them out!

I feel like one of the most important things to build up gold is to use your crafting etc to get the highest profit margin. Crafting a daily lump of mithrillium & charged quartz crystals make like 1g each. If you decide to buy trophy shipments, you'll get loads of t5 mats that can be more effectively used as t6 mats by using the mystic forge. And the same goes for most materials. T5&T6 enhancements usually sell for a good profit aswell. In general the best ways to earn gold is simply by doing the shit that no one else wants to do. Focus on items that are in high demand, frequently being insta bought and require multiple different supplies. Focus on creating an end product while simultaneously avoid selling raw mats on the TP whenever possible.

Well great lol, I managed to craft 3 precursors with the imperial favor I had. Have zero interest in aurene legs, that was a nice 300g. Good to use on chad generation 1 legs.

Years ago, I made the mistake of converting spirit shards to gold, cuz I had thousands of them. Now my main bottleneck in legendary crafting is spirit shards.

I totally forgot about my laurels! I just exchanged a few hundred of them (because I want to keep a good bunch on them, just in case) for well needed materials. :)

Usually Tuesday to Saturday! But this week is HYPE with the patch and Twitch Drops, so I'm live like every day lol

As someone who doesn't craft and has no intention of going for legendaries because I'm casual, time to raid my material storage!

I find things like trophy shipment only work if your somewhat lucky, which I'm not. Never made a profit doing those always break even or take a small loss. Just like turning lws3 map material (blood ruby, petrified wood, etc) into unbound magic to buy shipments never worked for me, always lost 10silver and made more money selling the stack of the material instead lol.

"this is not a shady get rich quick scheme"... that's exactly what a person trying to get you into a shady get rich quick scheme would say xD damn... your account value is arround 100k gold, impressive!

Unbound Magic is not too valuable unfortunately :( According to [fast], the best conversion is like 3 copper per Unbound Magic! So 3k Unbound Magic is like 90 silver

If you don't have legendary trinkets yet, it's the easiest way to get ascended ones. Else I think you're limited to those MIst-packed things (I forgot their name).

I really wish they would let us trade Gifts of Exploration for Gifts of Battle. I would give 5 to 10 of one for 1 of the other. I have like 60+ just sitting. If I could trade some for GoB and then use them for crafting Gen 1s, I could make a ton of gold! sigh... Anyways, I didn't know about some of these, I'd heard whispers about them but never really researched cause I was never really gold poor, but this is all good to know!

@@AnputENVTuber Then WvW players should WANT such a trade too. Maybe the same vendors could do the opposite exchange for them where several GoB can be traded for 1 GoE. Sounds fair to me. For me the GoB is the most boring part of any Legendary, and I'm sure for WvW players GoE would be considered the same thing. Everybody's happy! Let us not be at odds, let us join forces!! 😅

If you're okay grinding and being mentally void, run fractal 42 with everyone bringing high burst dmg, a nice 2 minutes for 4 free chests, an average of 50g an hour 😁

Spirit Shard Conversion ... having your PC waste electricty for hours, so you can convert your Spirit Shards, that are worth hundreds of Gold or otherwise be worthless.

I am playing GW2 for 3 days now, so I am already an experienced player. /pokerface But I have a question. How much gold is a lot of gold? You see, so far I never needed any gold so far on my unreachable for most ppl level (38), so I have no idea about the scale we are talking about here.

To my knowledge there is a way but idk how actually profitable it is by buying orrian something boxes from various vendors in orr and selling the junk you get from them could probably find a calculator online to tell you expected profits

i tried to make a legendary and ended up leaving the game when i saw the pure pain that it is this video almost made me relog to see if i was rich lol now that i think about it i didn't even start EoD despite owning it...money well spent i guess xD

You won’t be. “Rich” is not a thing in gw2 unless u pay for gold or more gw2 accounts. Everything in game is centred around funneling people to buy gems or gold.

You need 75 of those for almost every legendary, so if you plan on crafting a full set of legendary armor you just need 50 more!
