If you want to live minimal or are just getting started, then there's nothing wrong with little apartments like this. My first apartment over a decade and a half ago was basically a little efficiency that was total of 415sqft. It was a great way to get on track to adulthood. That being said, it was also 400 bucks a month all bills paid and was not a viable option for anyone that actually had other things going on in their life besides college. It was a place to sleep and shower, maybe even make some toast. A motel room with a kitchen. It made my dream of owning a home that much more important to me. I busted ass and saved up. I worked hard and now I own my first home. This apartment situation here- is what the elites have in mind for everyone. Permanent renters. Break the cycle. Lower your standards and invest in a house within your price range. Home is what you make it so learn some basic life and repair skills. Home ownership is very possible- just not for the termite that would rather rent the newest Iphone and consume themselves to death because Tiktok told them too. Commiefornians.

That was actually Trump's description of the "Freedom Cities" that he announced on Fox. That and he wants to tear down all of the ugly buildings! Everybody in the comment section said, "Sounds like 15 Minute Cities". Sounds like the continuation of Biden's BBB plan. You have to destroy it first.

When I was 37 I'd been married for 15 years and we had traded up to our 4th home by working hard and saving money. We live in a rat hole apt for 11 months at age 22 and scraped up a minimum down payment on our first house with a mortgage rate of 12.5%. I worked at a paint store and my husband was a college drop out who decided to go back to night school after working 70 hours a week...he finally got his engineering degree 6 years later.

My sister claims she works "3" jobs. She doesn't want to work at a real job so she's a dog/house sitter occasionally where she gets to stay in rich people's homes for a week at a time, helps out at her friend's Farmer's market stand on Saturday day, and works for another friend as a server for a catering business on Saturday nights when they have work, which is mostly the holiday season. Works a total of 9 actual hours every week. The rest of the time she's at the beach or out hiking. Get's her health insurance for $25/mo through Obamacare, gets food stamps, and California paid off her $80,000 mortgage in 2010 to prevent "communities" from being separated. Yeah, she had to pay it back, interest free, when she sells it, but there's no motivation to sell since it's basically "free" to live there. Just prop 13 property taxes from the mid 1990's

My grandparents moved to California and bought a house on a working man’s salary. They paid it off, lived a good life, put their kids through school, owned their vehicles, etc. Now, none of that is possible. It’s really sad. We have allowed ourselves to fall so far so quickly. And I fear that this is just the beginning.
