    Hey, Coach. Great tutorial. Really. I have a couple of questions. When you reuse the wrap, do you find you get the same support simply by applying a layer of gauze and tape around the wrist? And do you find the hand portion of the wrap gets looser each time you use it? I guess I'm wondering how good the support is once it's been cut, as it seems like the tension after it's been cut would come only from the newly applied thinner layer of gauze and tape. I get that the original wrap provides the stiffness of a fight wrap, maybe more, but does it lose some of the tension or grip of the original when reused? Obviously, it works for you, so I'm just wondering what, if any, difference you feel, and, given nearly daily use on the bag, pads, and sparring, how long before you have to do a new wrap. My other question is about the use of the pre-wrap under the tape. I know commissions vary, but, for a fight wrap, would this be considered stacking? Sorry. That was more than a couple. Thanks very much for your time. Again, great vid.

  • @keysessoms

    @keysessoms

    9 ай бұрын

    I apologize for the extremely late response and I will try to answer everything as best as I can. When you cut the wrap you do lose some of the tension and stiffness you got from the regular wrap, but if you tape it pretty tight around the wrist, depending on the quality of tape you used you can get back 80-90% of that stiffness back. From the wraps that I have made I have realized the hand compartment getting looser over time, but I have realized the padding wearing down over time depending on the size of the gloves I use. Generally a wrap like this can last for 6-10 weeks depending on how you take care of it. This wrap cannot be used in any fight and not because it would be considered wrapping, but because of the use of self-adhesive gauze. In some states stacking is legal and you can stack with pre-wrap a than tape than gauze and tape again. Soon I will be doing two new videos. One with a amatuer/pro fight wrap and the other an updated reusable training wrap.

    @Kenyon Sessoms hey man, I once saw a trainer wrap a guys hands using short pieces of some kind of string or twine between the fingers. He would tape them to the back of the hand then pull them in between the fingers and tape them on the palm. What’s the deal with this? Do they use regular string?

  • @keysessoms

    @keysessoms

    Жыл бұрын

    I am not sure about that. For competition adding anything other then gauze or tape would be illegal. I've seen Freddie Roach do this with gauze where he ties a thin piece of gauze to the bar in the palm of the hand and rolled them into something like a string. It's used to keep the padding in place.

    so why use these instead of regular wraps?

    Honestly it is more of a feel thing. My hands feel more protected with these then regular handwraps maybe because I tape them. Really though it probably isnt much of a difference.

    This just trains weak knuckles and wrists. Just use bear hands and fuck up the heavy bag. You might shed some skin, but skin grows back, and when it grows back it grows baxk stronger.

    you'd better be joking,bro, no smart guy would train in this way,crazy and low efficiency,you'll wait weeks for your knuckles to recover and it would probably led to TFCC damage,that will end your boxing life

    why not just use regular handwraps? I'm new and don't really get it. This seems like more work.

    Im not going to lie it is more work up front and more expensive, but I feel like it more protection and I really just like the feel of them.
