Crazy how we almost didn't get Phil singing this song.

I found this version several years ago, not long after becoming a new father and at the same time a foster parent. The simplicity, earnestness & heart of just Phil and the piano singing these words really got to me. It quickly became one of many songs I’d sing to the babies while rocking them to sleep. Some stayed & some left…and these words apply to all my kids, whether our time together was limited or turned into for always. There are sometimes I listen & it’s hard not to cry. Beautiful song from a great artist with amazing God given talent!

I would of loved to own an album of Phil and his piano!!

I still find it amazing that this guy became a binge drinker in his 60's and became sober in a short time. He almost didn't make it, but it is truly a blessing that he is still here

I have loved Phil since I was a kid. He has really inspired a lot of my music. I am someone who sings and writes alot of hard-rcok music. But he is one of my base inspirations. I have always wanted to see him live. To bad I will never get that chance. It also is really cool to see that even though he is a musical genius. He still even makes mistakes. Make me love him even more.

evduijn he doesn’t make excuses and proves he’s human like us (though much more talented than I am!!!) The piano keys were sweaty on the day of Live Aid and his finger slipped off the key! He did a magnificent performer even with that “slip up”! He had to be exhausted after performing in London and flying on Concorde to NY/PA! What a talent he is! Phil used his God-given talent to the best of his ability! God Bless!

Phil's voice was alot stronger the year before on the Turn It On Again tour but he isn't singing in full. Going Back- its become alot lighter and higher in tone.

Was this in 2008? Nice to see him in the (virtual) present time. So used to watching the older videos. Great to hear him say that he still loves to write. And still loves performing, even though he doesn't. I had thought that maybe he found other interests and retired emotionally, from music. Thank God that is not the case. He has the 'piano' fingers. (ha,ha) Phil, my love. We are all watching and waiting patiently for your next project, See you then.

Is a version of the song available on a dedicated album at all?

I wish he didn't mess up, I know we all make mistakes but I was really hoping to dance to this song with my father when I get married and the original is just a little too fast for a wedding dance and its not easy to find a slow version of this song
