I think it sucks when you need to hide stuff in a relationship. If you tell a small lie to protect someone, then that's different. But having big secrets like that hurt a relationship. I agree with Matt when he said a few episodes back, it's nice when both people have days where they don't spend together, it's healthy.

Wow, this was the first video I've seen where I really felt the advice resonate with me and a situation I was recently in. I was dating someone for several month who was amazing, but I never felt good enough. I found myself lying out of fear of disappointing them. I broke up with them because I couldn't face my problems, and I couldn't stand letting them down so much. I've come a long way since then and I now see that I wasn't in the right place to have a relationship. We weren't communicating well, not just about my issues, but about things between us and I still believe that breaking up was the right thing. I agree being honest is 100% necessary for a healthy and happy relationship. Good luck!

I was in a very similar situation, I have finally given up and me and my girlfriend are getting better and better. But the lying has really hurt her and affected our relationship and not a day goes by that I don't regret it

Dude, no wait. Don't break up with her yet - that to me seems rather drastic. Just have a concersation with her first, explain everything and if she wants to break up fine but if she wants to work things out then who knows. People's change over time, especially in a relationship. Lieberman doesn't know everything and it's just his opinion at the end of the day. Think about what you're doing first, try to admit what you've done, and see where it goes from there!

This has nothing to do with the advice but i both love and hate that backpack. as someone who loves graphic tees with jokes on them, i find that backpack hilarious. however, those also come with a downside. people will bother you about them, thinking theyre funny when theyre not. i once had a t shirt that said "Wanna know how to keep an idiot busy? See back of shirt." and on the back it said "Wanna know how to keep an idiot busy? See front of shirt." well it certainly kept idiots busy, while pissing me off at the same time
