Telling people what to do is a basic thing, but we all forget to do it. But if you don't ask, you won't get. Or you'll get something you don't want.

I love Yoohoo! I've never seen soda though. The Yoohoo I know is more like chocolate milk. But there's no milk in it. I still get it now and again.😂
My Uncle LOOOOVED Yahoos. I still remember those glass bottles all over the kitchen. LOL!
Dam now that's a latte! :) Coffee is life. I'm having my morning coffee too! Cheers! Thanks for all these great videos Kara!

Mine is chai tea latte, but yes it is a latte! It's my addiction.
I'll take a Yoohoo! I used to drink it as a kid and it was great. Non-carbonated chocolate drink made with whey protein (from milk).
Great topic❣️ Thanks for the reminder. 👍

short but sweet
Fun fact: back in 1966, Pepsi tried to compete with Yoohoo and made “Devil Shake”

My husband, thankfully, does the grocery shopping and I've learned to be very specific when I request anything because I once put apples on the list and he came home with 5 different varieties in bags. Now I put Gala apples. 😂 As long as I'm specific (ex: 2 medium tomatoes), he'll gladly get me whatever I want but he's not a mind reader... neither are our customers. I've randomly found so many neat items in Facebook posts from businesses and there's never a link? They'll post a new item, say "just listed in the shop!" but no way to find said shop. 🤷♀️😒 go to their profile, nope, no link there, check comments, nope, no link there either.

The Facebook thing drives me nuts.
Suggestive selling can be very effective. Great topic!

I really wanted a Yoohoo after watching this. It’s been years since I’ve had one.

Those are good years, don’t ruin it now!
My pet peeve on newsletter sign-ups. When they pop up five seconds after you have landed on a page. I've never been to your "house" and already you want something from me. Nope. I usually click out of the popup if I'm really interested in the product and want more info or I leave and never look back. What I do find acceptable is a gentle "tap" as I'm getting ready to leave the site, hey, do you want more info, sign up.

Exactly!
If you're stuck on CTA's looking boring, using AI to generate a list of them is handy. Same with newsletter or social media headings etc.

I saw a test that someone did that said "shop now" was the most effective, even though people thought that was the worst one.

@@KaraBuntinwouldn't surprise me. It's easy to overcomplicate it all. I know it's in our nature to not want to 'sell' to people but as a consumer, it's frustrating to see something, want it then have to dig through to try to find it. I try to keep it simple "this is what I made/have, this is why you want it, this is where to get it" 🤷♀️
Good advice.
Depending on your shop, it can helpful to rotate inventory regularly too. I deactivate listings every 90 days as they come up for renewal and then add something new.

@@abbycat000 Just keeping the shop inventory fresh. I'm sure there are other ways to do it. This is just the approach that I use. ☺
Thank you!!
Can we / should we put newsletter nudges on Pins? Or is that something Pinterest doesn't approve of?

You can, but that might not be too successful. You can try it out, though.
All very well, but how do you tell Etsy to lift the suspension they put on your shop the day after you paid them $15 for it ! 3 appeals haven't worked - I hear it's a widespread problem.
@KaraBuntin
Ай бұрын
You have to file an appeal and wait. If you re-file it it will start the process over again, from what I hear. It's pretty common for new shops to be suspended then reopened later, but if you were selling something that's not Etsy-legal they mgiht not reopen the account. The $15 charge is to pay for the identity verification, so they don't have to refund that.
I do it on some of my vintage listings. If I have styled a teak bowl with salad servers, I write: salad servers are not included but you can get them here LINK.
