That comment is so on point; I was having a similar one that musicians will be doing their Phd dissertation on what Beardyman was able to do naturally while other musicians were just scratching their heads. Making sounds, composing, mixing, live. Others don't have a fourth of the talent. Those control panels also run the Tardis.

Its worth the wait! We finally got a show from the Legend in 2020, 2weeks before the date everything got shut down....Then this year he finally managed to visit us, and gave us an epic, memorable show (with a little bit of GABBA!;D), after more than 10yrs of waiting!

Hello Mr Hütt, since you re following beardyman for so long, maybe you have the info i need: i m searching for a video where beardy explains his further setup changes. Because the last detailed video i know is 3 years old (it’s called Producer Masterclass: Beardyman | Part 1 from Computer Music Magazine) - loved that video. But in the video he still had a RC505, which seem to be replaced now - i wanna know how he did it, cause i m trying to do the same, transitioning to pure Ableton from Rc505. Maybe there is a “to pay for” newer masterclass somewhere that i missed, where he explains everything in more detail if the ipad control surface can be achieved as a non-beardyman, how to setup Augustus Loop, etc?

Patreon and his discord is a great place for that. There's a tech tier where he shares everything if you can afford the 10 GBP a month for it. I love it in there and he often hangs and does transient bangers. BM a lovely bloke and all round legend.

I... still have no idea how this man does what he does. His brain is just on another level. Is it, "Right, I'll do this, then this, then this and so on"? Or is it just, "that sounds cool, let's go from whatever that is?" All I know about his setup, the software, the interfaces... is that it's all custom made. Ordinary live looping tools... just weren't good enough, they couldn't do what he wanted them to do so he was like, "fuck it, I'll make my own"; hence, the Beardytron; something only HE knows how to use, and that he knows every freaking aspect of.
