As my wardrobe has gradually expanded, I appreciate subtle patterns and textures more. It is a way to add a little bit of unique polish to an outfit, in an elegant way. Your advice on how to add color to your wardrobe has been really helpful. I try to follow one rule: if the color is bright and not a primary color, I keep everything else neutral or a primary color, and that has worked well. Thanks for all of your great videos!

Totally agree with what you said about quality. There’s a saying where I’m from that there’s quick, cheap and good, you can pick any two. Quick and cheap won’t be good. Good and quick won’t be cheap. Cheap and good won’t be quick.

I agree. With clothes, I can sometimes purchase great clothing for very little cost … but I have to spend a bit of time learning to identify quality, then spend even longer searching for quality items at an amazing discount. (Usually lightly-used items on eBay.)

I'm a feminine artistic lady.. my husband asks and trusts me to manage his image. I'm so tickled to see that a lot of what I do for him in a formulaic way is being presented on your channel 🥰 I love your channel, for the most part! Getting the style and history in a detailed way from a man is refreshing and educational for me. I'm really happy that I did a search for men's fashion videos and your channel showed up. My only recommendation? Could you please do a video series for men based around 12 or 24 seasonal color theory? I think it would be a useful, enchanting addition to your channel and help men really nail down their personal color palettes 😊 I want guys to look, feel and be their best. I see your channel as a big step towards that. Thank you for all you are doing. I love your voice and on camera persona btw. I hope you have a nice day.

Ive actually been looking at this concept with super high end stuff. If you shop smart you can have a handful of really nice things that all work together. Just break it up into three categories. Hot summer outfits, cold winter outfits, and year round layering outfits. Focus on the latter, but don’t forget you’ll need some for the other two. Get super nice pieces you can always wear.

Growing up poor I wore clothes from Walmart and just put on whatever axe body spray my parents got me. Now as an adult I'm more or less confused as where to even begin but this has given me a slight idea of what I should be doing. That is the thing I've needed. Thank you

I just attended an Apostolic Church service last Sunday. They initially didn't let new visitors like me into the main church, instead opting to separate us in an outdoor gathering. This sect was really into Sunday's best while the new attendees weren't. Since I was quite dressed up, I was mistaken for an established member. I was approached and asked where I was from, was I already baptized and I answered yes to both. First day in and dressing up got me back into the main church. Then, I befriended the friars, engaged in intellectual, moral and philosophical talk and then enjoyed some water and bread beneath a tree. Mr. Centeno, you are absolutely right. Whether in school, at work or in church, dressing up has its benefits.

I realize this anecdote was meant to be inspiring, but I can't help but feel disgusted by how un-Christlike their elitist, pretentious behavior was. Have they even read the Bible and taken to heart the fact that Christ himself didn't consider anyone too low to be worth his time, and, if anything, had sterner words toward the rich and high-status? Clearly not.

  • @MarcusConstantine_Cavalida21

@@MayTheSchwartzBeWithYou The Bible's got sufficient contradictions in it for anyone to draw out whatever interpretation they want for better or for worse. I may walk among believers but I was an atheist for 8 years. In that time, I was very critical of the Biblical texts. I can't quite name the verse but it's certainly in there. Early half of the Old Testament perhaps... goes something like... "The poor are to be commended for presenting themselves with combed hair modestly for there is little more appalling than a rich man who wears tattered and tainted clothes, pretending to be poor". I suppose it's about virtue signalling and how we shouldn't pretend to suffer things we don't suffer from and expect to be praised for it. I get your point though, elitism sucks wherever it may be. Everyone is worth time regardless of who they are or how they look, especially if we take the words of the more recent New Testament Christ. I'm not rich though either, really lol. I'm as poor as everyone else. I just live comfortably cause my elders are real gracious. We are Filipinos. We are naturally classist, elitist and even racist beneath our facade of politeness. The poor dislike the rich and the rich spit on the poor unless through means of dress they are mistaken for being one of them. It's a strange and unsettling facet of our culture but... that's the case. Thank you for the time though. I hope you have a good day.

I'm here in SoCal, and yes our options here can be quite limited in certain aspects. Doesn't get that cold here but pretty warm in the summertime. Not every venue here has good air conditioning. Also, we only get snow in the mountains which is about a 1.5 drive so snow is not something common to most SoCalis. It's just casual casual clothes everywhere.

Khaki/army green or burgundy are two other traditional menswear colors that can be incorporated for some variety in a man’s wardrobe, if they suit your coloring. I think burgundy is better for autumn/winter than for spring/summer, though. Burgundy looks great with a grays, for example. I also love light versions of blue, green, the blue/greens (called aqua or light turquoise) and pink in shirts on guys, for a change from your basic whites and white-based stripes and checks. I would choose carefully with off-whites, yellows, oranges and purples, check with a color analyst, or wife or girlfriend, at least to see if they suit you. Off-white/ivory/cream or yellow/orange or purple colors don’t look good on everyone, it depends on one’s natural coloring. Some version of beige will suit every person, either the warmer camel ones, or the cooler taupe (pronounced tope) versions, find which looks best on you. I’m woman with a cooler (less yellow, more pink) skin undertone, so taupe is “my beige”.

Interchangeability also works with wristwatches. Most men's watches have lug widths (strap widths) of 18mm, 20mm, or 22mm. I only buy watches with those standard widths, then get a few quick-release watch straps so I can change the look of my watch with just a minute or two of work. Watch straps are less expensive than wristwatches, so it's an inexpensive way to make a small number of watches look like a large number of watches. Two of my watches have bezels, and I also swap those out to further change the appearance of the watch. That takes a bit more effort and commitment, though.

I saw a quote about this the other day that I loved: “I can’t afford to buy cheap clothes”. It’s so true, I take the same wardrobe budget as before, but just buy much higher-quality, classic, versatile items now instead of a lot of cheap, trendy fast-fashion. Obviously, I buy fewer items with that budget, but in my case, that’s a good thing, my wardrobe is still bloated with cheap, “meh” clothes and accessories that I don’t love or wear. I also stick to a certain style, classic, a fairly tight color palette, and top-quality, natural fibers. Most of the “can’t wear” or just “don’t wear” items I got rid of were in unwearable synthetic fibers, too big/shapeless, or just too trendy, usually all three. I’m still working, gradually, on decluttering my wardrobe, it’s a huge one. I’m keeping only the “love” or “really like” items, the obvious “Hate’s” I already got rid of. I’m going through my skirts today, taking put any that fall off! (I have lost, and kept off, several sizes). The “loves” I’ll take in at the waist, the rest will go (sell or donate depending on fabric, cost and brand). Never donate anything that isn’t in perfect condition, even the poorest immigrant, who walked here with only their one set of clothes, won’t want it, they can get something like it new at many places for the same price. I try to get the worn items them to fabric recyclers, if I can, otherwise, the trash.

I live in a humid subtropical region where we have 30°C/85°F (or much higher) for about 2/3 of the year. The recommendations in the link Antonio provided mesh very well with the idea of a capsule wardrobe. When Antonio discussed the "direction" of the capsule wardrobe, you and I want "warm weather" to be part of that direction. One additional recommendation (not mentioned in the link): if you purchase a sports/suit jacket, make certain that it is either quarter-lined or unlined (in addition to being lightweight fabric with an open weave).

Concerning Antonio's jewelry, nice watch with one ring per hand looks just right. I'm going to copy that. But if I wear both a bracelet and a watch at the same time, I'm likely to remove the rings. ------- I used to wear a lot of jewelry on the hands and wrist, but I stopped that cause the older I get the more I realize that it just looks ridiculous.

@@randomdudeonyoutube. There's no magical price range that works for everyone. One of my favorite dressy watches is a Seiko that was on sale for $100. One of my favorite functional watches is a Casio G-Shock I bought off eBay for $100. Hello Antonio,I have used some of the advice in your vidoes and I have 2 questions:What do I do if the only bargain stores nearby are second hand stores which ship in second hand clothes from england? and How do I correctly perform my manicure and pedicure when I have large nails which get white on all edges which have to be cut? It takes 40 minutes to do my manicure, weekly and a full hour for my pedicure, monthly which I would want to do much quicker.

Great video, love the "capsule stategy" for mens clothes, being able to mix and match fewer quality pieces will save you a lot of money in the end. Also, Id say stay away from all the luxury brands for clothing, way over priced and not convinced the quality is ever any better than a mid range price scale, you are paying for the name and making someone else rich at your expense.

I spent my career in a corporate office where men wore suits and ties everyday. The stylish guys, of all ages, really made great, interesting outfits with their accessories, by changing up their shirts colors and patterns, their ties and socks, and different footwear styles and colors. Men maybe don’t have quite as many accessory options as we women do, but you still have lots. I’m partial to Jerry Garcia ties, for one thing. The men that didn’t look good mostly wore clothes that were too tight because they didn’t size up when they gained weight, or wore clothes in unflattering colors for them, or wore clothes that were just too worn out or out of style, like bell-bottomed, tight, suit trousers from decades earlier. I once told a colleague when his shirt no longer had any fabric over the elbows, how could he, or his wife, not notice this, it must have taken 10 years to wear out that much? It was also that yellow gold from the 70s, but this was in the 90s! The color was not only decades out of style, (the collar style was super-dated, too), it looked awful with his personal coloring. Keep it classic, too, then your suits won’t look dated in five years. Cast a critical eye on the fit and condition of the wardrobe you have, at least once a year or season.

I own a black vest (waistcoat) that was given to me. I only happen to have a black pants to match with it. I wear it on its own with a dress shirt with a tie, inferring that I only have that vest and nothing else. I know that vests are usually worn with a suit, but I dont own a suit. Is it fine wear it in a weekly basis, say at work for example, or at non-uniform day at a college?

I also have a black vest (inherited) that does not have a matching jacket or trousers. I try to avoid wearing a black vest with black pants (and especially with a white shirt), because that's frequently the outfit of the waiters, bartenders, or caterers … and I don't want to look like the service staff. I don't wear the vest often (because of the warm climate here), but I plan to wear it with blue, gray, or brown slacks. If the weather is appropriate, I would also pair it with a sports jacket. Don't be afraid to mix it in with other colors. That kind of mixing is well accepted in classic men's wear.
