Cloud gaming at this point is worthless and not with its current value! Trust me playing live with a monster pc is a lot more different than just shadow playing! The graphics aren't the same! Let us hope these things improve in the future, but I doubt it because humans are greedy fu(ck3rs!

It's someone paying extra for the service to fund these costs, and that is usually before they have stabilized and a little after before competition comes. Cheap products are cheap because the resources are just sitting there after people before you payed premium prices. Capitalism is a thing, and it works. If it was just as simple as lowering the prices, then anyone could do it and get a more successful company, they don't, they fail, proving that the current companies are more optimized than them.

Given that the onboard video for my desktop PC was nVidia's GeForce 6150SE, I share your pain. I also beg to differ on the graphics card - even an upgrade to a Diamond Multimedia HD 5450 (IIRC I paid just under $40 for it, and probably overpaid) was a substantial improvement. 😁

Cheap card will do like a GTX1050 or used gtx960, gtx970.. RX560, RX580 or older... any gpu can stream

I was part of the GeForce NOW beta back in the beginning of 2020 and I have to say it was really good as long as you had stable internet, even on my slow and dying laptop was a great experience!

You should do a latency test using the hammer and high speed camera method . You used it in your wireless mouse testing video, and it would mor precisely test the latency. Also having multiple testing locations in multiple geographical spots would further enhance the overall quality of the test.

Recently started using stadia in work where I can’t instal anything, and honestly! It’s been pretty fun playing moonlighter, and doom, on my lunch break ! Not had any real issues yet!

The Ryzen 7 5700g is looking fairly promising. Plus, it means you can just drop a GPU in and have an 8 core/16 thread cpu that performs better than a 10700k (at least according to their benchmarks)

Tell me about it - been a Shadow user for a couple of years but now I’m just stuck in limbo regarding the games/accessories I buy for PC gaming (as there’s no way I could afford a physical replacement for Shadow and I use the whole computer, not _just_ the gaming, so the services Linus reviews are no good for me). I also use Shadow for VR gaming on my Quest for PC level VR games. Those games go down the drain if Shadow does.

In Thailand and Malaysia, it's the retailers who are hoarding the supplies and selling 2x to 2.5x MSRP. I talked to the distributor who is offering GPUs at around 1.2 to 1.5x the original MSRP, but their authorized retailers are compounding their margin by 2x on the distributor price. So a $700 card comes about $1200 to $1400 from distributor and the retailers are charging around $1800 to $2400.

I have messed around with GeForce now (on a shield pro) and Stadia here in Toronto, 500 up/down fiber connection. Stadia had much better input lag, but just no good game selection. GeForce was unusable for any games that require precise inputs. If Stadia somehow supported my steam licenses it would be a killer.

I use parsec on my gaming PC to stream games to my laptop. Input lag exists because physics but over LAN its inperceptible unless you were playing a game like csgo at highly competetive levels. Ive played tarkov on it and have little difficulty getting kills. But this was from my desktop over lan to laptop, i dunno if thats what youre after but parsec does stream over the internet too. The worst part is the video compression, especially if too much of the screenspace is a similar but slightly different color, it can look terrible IF your connection is weak, but when the connection is good enough its playable, but still noticible compared to on the desktop

I think this videos is made some weeks ago, because i did get this information from them in my mail some days ago: "Hi all, The beginning of a new chapter is in sight - with just about two weeks (yes, really two weeks) to go. I don't know if you especially tested shadow, but this company sure didn't deliver. Their service was really laggy, if you only could connect to their servers, which was impossible on Saturdays and Sundays due to network bottlenecking on their side

Me living in a rural European village with basically no Internet and a 300 gb data cap watching this 👁👁 must be nice having options

i booted up the xbox app the otherday, they do this now. Started playing forza 4 without having to instal, pretty cool. There was a slight amount of input lag, but still dope to have the options.

I don't need glasswire to know what's holding me back. I live in Germany. It's my ISP.

Well I use a ryzen 5 3400g and its pretty decente. I can play almost everything, even some more heavy games at 30 fps min.

I've been using Playstation now for a few years and never had the problems you were having.

It's the latency. Using a cloud service for gaming is not usable for any somewhat comp game.

Latency is really that bad when streaming games. The stream quality really depends on network quality, which is most likely choppy end to end at times. You can't really buffer the next 15 min like with videos. So you feel every lag spike and speedbump

I dunno if it was different when this video released, but you dont actually need to pay for a subscription to access Stadia. It just gives you some free games and discounts on other games iirc. You could feasibly just buy the games you want to play and ignore the subscription. I use it to play Destiny 2 on my chromebook 100% for free and its actually pretty good.

Me watching this Video in 480p because of my internet connection: finally a comparison of cloud gaming services!

Far more helpful would have been a comparison of the screen action of an APU and a regular graphics card. For most people, the AMD Ryzen 3400G will meet graphics demands with no complaint, but with such a comparison, we could see at least how far short (if at all) the R53400g fell from expectations.

OK, sure, but you'll have to play everything at 720p on the lowest possible settings, unless you want to play DX9 games or other ancient titles, which there's nothing wrong with that, but an APU's capabilities have been embellished, to say the least

Unintentionally? Or Google just really wants you to buy into Stadia? They need the GPUs too...more than you do. How they gonna rent you a GPU if you can just buy one?

I was invited to the Xbox Game Pass streaming on a PC browser beta, and let me tell you it is AMAZING (especially for a beta). Sea of Thrives works wonders-it looks and feels like it is running natively. Streaming Xbox over a browser is a godsend for me....I can just hook up a controller and use my college wifi to play whenever I want. Linus I would recommend you checking out the browser streaming if you got the invite.

I play Hitman games on Stadia, loving it! it's perfect for that type of game, from Romania, my ping is super low to it, fine for me, maybe not for others

The global elites have said that in the future you will not own anything. I just didn't expect that they would start with graphics cards 😑

I think shadow will also be great for people who wanna use Linux, but still need windows for some programs and games, so they can just use Linux on their main PC, and launch shadow for Photoshop etc, but they don't have to set up Firefox, Spotify etc on the VM, BC they can just Tab out use their Linux PC and tab back into shadow.

i got xcloud in april 2022. it is amazing on the windows 10 xbox app. ive had no problems at all playing all my favorite game. 10/10 would recomend to pc gamers with high end potatos.
