Watching back, I agree that must be it because it was the only eye related answer. But it still doesn't make a whole sense for being "flavored".

The speed round towards the end of the first game is about reflexes and and overall knowledge on the subject. The person that taps the screen and gets it right the quickest get the points, but because Ava gave up she just started spam hitting the screen. She got deducted points constantly but also hit the screen on the correct ones and got the points. So even though she was losing more points than she was gaining per question, she took the possibility of other getting the points.(since its kinda hard to beat someone who is just tapping the screen nonstop) Which kind of takes away the point of the round especially considering how close Candace and Sam were in points.

I think they should record the sound separately and overlay it in post if they really really cared about the production quality. But that does seem like a lot of work so I understand.
