You Didn't Have To Be So Nice - The Lovin' Spoonful (Cover)

Музыка

Possibly my favorite Spoonful song.
Random Musings:
* My mom received an Autoharp as a birthday present in the mid 90's, which I promptly commandeered and have to this day :)
* Don't be alarmed by the panning! I think the 60's aesthetic of hard panning things left and right is cool, so I kept that in this mix.
* I love the "felt more than heard" guitar work of Zal Yanovsky on this track. Everybody probably sings the floating cloud triplet riff, but might not be aware of where it's coming from.
* I thought for a while that there was an organ on this, but I believe it is Zal playing guitar with the tone rolled all the off and mixed very low in the background.

Do I remember correctly that this was the B-side of my 45 RPM record Nashville Cats? 🤔😊 Be that as it may, I love the song and I love your rendition of it. You can really sing and play.

Thanks Tom, that's a huge compliment coming from you! We Five's version of You Were On My Mind is excellent, I'll have to work it into the video pipeline.

I wish your vocals were a little more up front in the mix!
