What an amazing game and a tremendous performance from Crosby and plenty of others out there! Will the Pens snatch one of the final two playoff spots, or can someone catch them from behind?

All the drama in this game just to piss it away two days later.

As a Penguins fan I was on the edge of my seat. Props to the Wings, particularly Raymond and Larkin. I was genuinely worried that the Penguins of the first half of the season were rearing their ugly heads due to Karllsson's defensive mistakes, but what a finish. Karlsson redeemed himself in the end, and scored what I feel is his biggest goal as a Penguin.

I’m a penguins fan too I was more hyped than ever when they won this game in OT.

Pittsburgh guy here and we love Sid. I want them to let him ride it out until he says he's done.

Think about how many points Crosby would have if he didn't miss all that time for his concussions, WOW

You make a good point about the Hart. THERE NEEDS TO BE 2 SEPERATE TROPHIES!! 1. MVP = the player that dragged his team towards success. 2. BEST player of the season = this replaces what is currently the "MVP" ex. top scorer, most points, etc. In that context Crosby is 1000% the MVP this year.

Not necessarily ..... look at what Kucherov has done in Tampa. He's so far ahead of any of his teammates in points. If he wasn't having the year he has been, the Lightning might not even be a playoff team.

It’s always funny looking at the NHL career points leaders. Gretzky annihilates everyone, it’s not even close. Probably the most untouchable record in sports.

Im an Isles fan and I think the Pens (certainly Crosby) deserve it more. Isles won 6 straight and play the Rangers again tom but finish the season vs the Pens next week. If that game decides it I think the Isles flop and Crosby shows us why he is the Goat -1

Sid had a great year but the Hart Trophy is too crowded. Mcdavid only needs one more assist to hit 100. Only 3 other players in NHL history have hit 100 assists in one season: Wayne Gretzky (11 times), Mario Lemieux (once) and Bobby Orr (once). One more assist and McDavid will be added to that list.

On another note: This game is proof we need two different awards for D men. Karlson almost lost that game by gaffing on his defensive responsibilities. Then won it bc of his offensive roving sensibility. Give the Norris to the best defensive defensemen. Paul Coffey award should be made for best offensive defensemen. Forwards have the Selke… only makes sense.

Oilers fan here, there's nothing I'd want to see more than Sid and the Pens making the playoffs with this performance.

Oh man, what if this had been the season-final game, and the winner would take the final spot - It would have been like winning a championship feeling at this stage!

Ned has been leading a charmed life. I was calling for him to be the primary net minder months ago but he would have to stand on his head against a team like the Rangers or Panthers. I don't think we have the depth to survive the 1st round. Still, this is amazing to witness! If Sid can keep playing like this for a few more years ----------> Mt Rushmore

As a penguins fan who lives in St. Louis this was my first game in person and it was everything I was not expecting to see but holy cow. Go Pens

Imagine if Patrick Kane was a red wing his entire career...Crosby vs Kane every other week :P Best american player vs best canadian player, but all the time!

if there were a heart trophy for just the second half of the season, Sid would be a contender.

For sure. Happy to see the Wings get a least a point though. I thought they were dead to rights when Carter scored that shortie, but they showed no quit.

@@danielpodjun715 Totally agree. Much of the Wings fan base to me are wanting throw the season away because of terrible we've played the last 20 games or so. They don't even realize what the heck this team could be doing by the end of next week.

I was fearing after that collapse thinking Detroit was about to gritty on us again, GO PENS! FAITH!

Karlsson blew the lead for us (gave up 2 goals), he was lucky enough to score in OT.

Karlsson scored the game winner, but it shouldn't be ignored that he just about gave the game away himself.

Rooting for my wings 🪽 to make it, but beating Toronto at home is a tall order! It would be tough to see our ex-wing Bertuzzi knock us out. It’s gonna be a bittersweet goodbye for Larkin 😣

Crosby is AWESOME! I hate him. Signed, Red Wings fan since the Gordie Howe days.

Thanks Jeff! I typically produce longer videos, but I had a great time of making this one - how couldn't I with such an entertaining game. We'll see if I pump out more stuff like this during the playoffs.

I would love o see the Pens get the 3rd slot in the division and face the Hurricanes. Face Canes and Jake G, that would be interesting. But Pens have stiff competition ahead of them to get there .. Bruins, Nashville and NYI. I am not a fa of them playing the Stranger Danger Rangers. But really I don't care who they face first round, just get in there so they have a chance at the Cup! GO PENS!

Yeah even though it's going to be tough to overcome the Isles for 3rd, it'd be interesting to see not only the Pens face Guentzel - but also for Nedeljkovic to take on his former team.

It would be a miracle for them to win a round, considering how bad they’ve been in the playoffs even when we have a decent team, but I’d rather play ANYBODY but the hurricanes. I’m sick of the rangers too, but we’d match up better with really anyone over the hurricanes

However, you can count units of a quantity (number of liters of water). As you can see this issue is one of my pet peeves. Yeah, I need help. 🤣

Good question! When an attacking team is trying to keep the puck in the other team's zone, sometimes a defenseman will advance from the top of the zone (where the blue line is) to further down the boards - in order to seal off a puck from exiting the zone. That way, the defender is extending the time his team has in the offensive zone.

Most teams play a system where the last forward who enters the attacking zone plays back a little, in case the defending team gains possession, to prevent an outnumbered opportunity going the other way. Sometimes that high forward will chase the puck deeper into the zone and another forward will cycle back to cover that high position. The pinch is like a pinch hitter in baseball, a defenseman makes a split second decision to battle for the puck deeper in the attacking zone, and he expects a nearby high forward to swing around and cover his position. If the pinch works the puck remains in the zone and you may get a golden opportunity to score. The decision to pinch is critically dependent on teammates, specifically a high forward circling back who is capable of swapping places or at least covering the back zone. At its worst the pinch can be a selfish, boneheaded play that costs your team the game.

The last few games of the season are going stressful for 4 teams in particular. PIT,WSH,PHI, and DET. I've had enough of PIT,WSH,and PHI. Detroit needs this last playoff spot so badly.

I've also hoped to see the Wings end their playoff drought. I'm happy the playoffs are starting, but having grown up with the Wings always contending, it just feels right when they're at least in the dance.

PIT didnt play well in this game at all. If they can play poorly and still find a way to beat a team as talented as the Wings, im hopeful for the remainder of the season and the possibly the playoffs. However there are some major holes. Graves was bringing the team down tremendously. Hopefully Ludvig fills in P.O.s spot and Reilly Smith is the most disappointing player left in the line up.

So basically you're saying that the pens are going to win out and be in the playoffs? Okay will see! That trip was so blatant on Raymond should have been called. I think any team can take it. Pits play three hard teams the wings play one. Washington you never know what they do. They can go beat a power house team then lose to a nobody so I think they are done. I can't stand pits or crosby. Pple act like he got them to where they are at. No he helped them but gets all the credit. His plus minus sucks so how is he so complete?
