Car was designed to burn rubber. I have the regular sl AMG and I go through tires pretty regularly. No burnouts. So much so that I have a stack of spare tires lol

Worked on one when I was at AMG, notorious for fuel smell in the cabin because the charcoal canister is in the void between the cabin and the boot. Also for some reason air filters are discontinued. Special car, if you really wanna show of how much carbon is in it, open the fuel flap and you’ll see the whole rear quarter panel is carbon too

I have a ‘09 SL550. Black on Black, Straight up stock, it is everything anyone could ever want to drive. BUT, this Black Series AMG is a Bucket List Ride.

Back then, 667 hp was a huge amount. Really nice car. Love it ❤❤❤

HP is for for bragging rights and is completely out of control. The vast majority of people can't push a 200 HP 90s Prelude to the limit around the track/back roads let alone an AMG. There's a reason why there's a million Mustang crash videos online and it's nothing to do with the Mustang.

The designs from that period is where mercedes peaked, SL, CL and CLK where slick and elegant compared to the modern eyesore they make

i love that you pointed out the diff pump and coolers. few appreciate the engineering and attention to heat management that it takes for a car to be road-legal.

I saw one of these in silver in my area once and went ape shit, rarest car I have ever seen and yes I am on my 2nd SL now. And Silver might be the rarest color for it.

This is my favorite Mercedes of all time 2009 SL65.

Love how they put the “coolers” so low right where the street etc will break them if any road issues / problems occur.

Beautiful car and lots of Cutting Edge technology it's just a shame that out of 175 of those cars only a handful will actually utilize it's true potential the majority of these vehicles will be driven on the highway at 65 mph but I love the car

I have a regular SL55 AMG and I've replaced the front bumper twice. I have to raise my car just to get down the drive of my own home. I stay a mile away from parking curbs. Regular SLs sit low enough that I have to use a jack on the side to lift it enough for a low profile jack to reach under the front. I can't imagine how low this thing sits.

My 2011 CTSV has a factory installed rear diff cooler which has an external electric pump, heat exchanger and electric fan. 😊

Good taste! My first MB was a W208. Even though I have an SL55 (R230) and an S550 (W222), I'm still on the lookout for a 2000 CLK. I miss that car!

Needs more rock guard, Landrover achillis heel the suspension. Ppl dont know you can change them to coils. But as BMW owner i am not fan of over complicated telematics and systems.

Well, i have a 1of 1 It's an 89 3cly Geo Metro XFI ,with mags with wide tires, sunroof ,hooked up side pipes,wing,and a 4 barrel carb with a blower scoop sticking through the hood. And it has a total of 49 HP . Now beat that . 😂
