Typing this from Immersed. I've been using it since March 2020 for work, and have not looked back since. Three key things why working in VR is better: you're out of your environment, you're more focused, and you have multiple virtual monitors.

Oh, yes, they should do that. To be honest though it is still very much a beta test level function. It is not really very usible even with the standard finger set at the current time. Hopefully as it improves and comes to be more of an actual functional system they will do what they need to with regard to accessibility.

Honestly they have the most robust accessibility features on any VR headset ever, and even compared to most tech in general there are a lot of accessibility options. You have a pretty specific issue that really makes it pointlessly difficult for them to work around. Hand tracking isn’t good enough for you to have a reason to care anyway.

I did this for about 4 hours over 2 days in the Quest 2 last week. My biggest issues are comfort and the keyboard layout. Having a virtual keyboard helps A LOT, but I use a lot of special keys and they are just in the wrong location. Hopefully we'll get more standard layouts soon. The other issue is comfort. The device is just a bit too heavy (I have the elite strap with a counter weight) for long sessions imo. That being said, I feel like I was actually able to focus more easily because all exterior distractions were gone. I'll be trying it out more today and in the future to see if I can adjust. Thanks for the video!

This is pretty cool, they definitely need to add several keyboard types though, also surely they could add a mouse...calibrate the same way and then as long as u don’t pick up ur mouse it’ll just track it where u move it. Once they have that Remote Desktop thing would be interesting to try it with a shadow pc, if u can pair wireless mouse n keyboards to the quest that would be great, if you only have an option of a track pad that would suck I gotta say

I was disappointed though when they announced the paid versions were subscription based instead buying it once. But there’s a work around. Just buy headless monitor connections for any additional video connections on your graphics card. They show up on immersed as monitors. You got the additional monitors without the need of paying a subscription.

This really seems amazing, i remember the huge increase in productivity once i got my second screen. And just how easy it felt when swiping through screens the first time on our quest and the possibilities could be. I actually hope that they kill physical keyboards really fast since FB is working on that as well and even working on creating neural interfaces. The future is exciting, the future is now.

Thanks for all of your great tutorials and reviews. It is easy to set up and use. I don't love it however, because I still don't feel the true connection to the keyboard and find myself peaking to get proper hand placement. Also, even with the elite strap and battery pack installed (and some added weight), the quest 2 is not comfortable enough for me to work in it for hours. I could see AR being a better solution but will have to wait for that.

Hi Cas.. I have the Quest 2. I gave Immersed a try based on your recommendation.. But i have been having so much trouble with getting to work and sorting out calibrating the physical keyboard with the virtual overlay. the keys it wanted me to press didn't get pressed correctly. and then i couldnt sort out restarted or redoing a calibration. Also, I have had the virtual desktop screen would freeze up with no warning and not clear what casued it to happen and to restore it .. so i just gave up trying to use it when in middle of something like a zoom meeting. I was hoping to used it for things like that too and also trying using the virtual webcam in Immersed for my zoom meeting.

Hi. First of all, great job with this video! So... This Software works only in Oculus Quest? How about Samsung Odyssey VR?

How do you move the keyboard to be over the overlay? I couldn't get that to work...also, it would be awesome if this functioned with Link because the lag is kind of slow on my wifi....

What is the latency / responsiveness like? For keyboard input and for screen refresh (output)? How difficult is it to read small text?

The keyboard thing is nice, i hope it gets implemented in the VR software itself since people already pay a premium for it and it seems like a thing that should already be available from the get go.

I want Virtual Desktop to implement this... Also to include 60% layouts and other non-standard layouts like 75% or Or even ortho would be cool. Maybe even split keyboards? Need to respect the custom keyboard community. Another solution is maybe to allow the user to take a snapshot of the keyboard and crop the image. Align keys and functions to each key easily based on keycap outline via software and allow the user to use their own custom keyboard from there.

Okay this might seem like a silly question but I'm yet to buy a quest or any VR headset. How do you add these addition screens? Ii work from home and seriously need a home office update. This approach seems really amazing to me to keep overhead costs low. I know a few people with quest 2 and have not set this up yet.

Hi! Thanks for your help and vids. Could you help me with a question? I´ve been using a Rift S and I was very happy with it until it broke some months ago. Then, I got a refund and now I have a Quest 2, but my graphic card is only a 2060 super, so, maybe, I did a wrong choice because, I think, Quest 2 needs a better PC (if you are using a cable link) for the same games than the Rift S. I don´t know if I´m forcing my graphic card trying to have a experience similar I had with the Rift S. What do you think? Should I return my Quest 2 and buy again the Rift S, even though they are gonna stop making next year? How could I know if I am forcing too much my graphic card, with the heat, latency? Thanks in advance!

You are hysterical lol :) The concept is great, but their entry price which is per month is too expensive at 14.99 just to have 5 screens. That's $180 per year, every year! WOW! You can buy used physical screens for less money. Yet physical should cost more than virtual. And this is the price they are starting with? - (people are not just going to want only 2 monitors in a free version.) Usually companies start at a lower price to first gain traction and also work out the bugs (like the bug you experienced with your laptop). I also think soon this will become a native feature as part of all headsets since it is so important now that resolution is no longer in the way. And yes every time I watch... don't want to forget to say... you are AWESOME :)

I have a Quest 2 and use it for online flight sims like DCS and X-plane. They both use remote keypads like a joystick and throttle (HOTAS) they are also fully dependent on the use of a keyboard. Unfortunately I spend more time peeking through my nose view trying to type when I should be flying. I can easily type 40 wpm but have the same issues that you have which is being able to remember specialty keys. Will this Immersed VR app allow me to do that? Thanks so much and keep up the great work.
