Last year, I made a video about it already, but VR has changed tremendously since then; I mean, the Quest wasn’t even released yet. So I thought I’d make a 2020 version with new info and new things to try out. I’ll also share tips on how to do everything on both PC VR and standalone VR headsets.

I just found out about gravity sketch and I'm going to try putting 3d models in it to see the details (so much to do) plus I hope they make a vr violin app because I have one and can't tell what I do wrong. I am doing this comment as i'm watching anyone else notice Alice at 7:44 and the Lindsey Stirling concert was awesome I went to all the vr ones(live way to far).

180° VR SBS porn are my favorite : And you know why? Because even if 3D is a big fail for flat screen, when your watch this kind of content, your first envy will to own a 3D 180° camera !( and may be..having sex...) My phone is able of 8k recording, has 4, 5, 6 lens, but doesn't have two lens for 5,7k 180° recording, what a shame! Ok the quality is quite poor with actual device, FOV with distorsion, not enough bright (even Google Earth, let you dive in a world of...darkness..;Quest is 350 nits? )...need Pancake lens, micro displays, 5k, etc....But for me, VR device has shown that we need to record in 3D now ! Cause it's simply better !

My favorite thing is to watch the traveling videos on Oculus tv in the Quest 2. Some of the titles are "One day in (specific city)". In my rift I like the traveling & food videos in AmazeVr. These videos make me regret that I didnt get a passport till this year but also satisfies, to a certain extent, this deep wanderlust Ive had in me for a while. I cant wait till the world unbans Americans lol.

@@SETHalpine Really wish 3D recording was more common. you always record for either a public video or future to watch back f.e. a wedding or holiday. PS. near admirable Honesty there, especially as you open up your sentence with SBS porn, but can confirm you get the question / people will ask in whisper if they can have a small watch how Pr0n is in VR XD.

I have a love for Egyptology but I can never go to see the pyramids, I don't do well in hot sunshine. Due to a similar but not exactly the same condition like XP, but I was able to download for free a recreation with special camera's. An experience of Queen Nefertiti's burial chamber, I was able to walk around it. And if I clicked on pictures and hieroglyphics, a voice over would tell me about them, and what they meant. Honestly it was fantastic for me, and I hope they do more. I have also had others with Sir David Attenbourough and dinosaurs, looked around a medieval French town. Went on the same ancient scaffolding as Michelangelo, and got to see the Sistine chapel ceiling. And again you can click on pictures and a voice over will tell you about them, Even just had a look around Notre dame back in ancient times from Ubisoft. I never really enjoyed history at school, with flat pictures that didn't really tell you a lot. But with these experiences I learned more than I ever did at school, I hope this is how children eventually get to experience these subjects.....Because it really does "make history come to life".

Think I saw this one too. So many possibilities for exploration. Pisses me off that the gamer's have a stranglehold on development. I gotta thank them for keeping VR alive but it will never go mainstream without mainstream appeal, most people have enough games to deal with in their real lives. Just imagine what could be done with Hollywood money and expertise? But without mainstream support that potential will never be realized.

@@glenrisk5234 True sadly with these power houses like hollywood, there is that tendancy for greed which ends up ruining a lot of thing. Right now it's a place where smaller companies, and Indie Dev's not just of games are flourishing, which is nice to see. But I think there is a real divirsity, of looking at software and uses outside the gaming space. The military are looking at the software, to help Soldiers suffering from ptsd which can only be a good thing.

Most headsets can fit your glasses in while playing but depending on size of frame and there’s a small risk it might scratch the lenses. Some headsets like Quest provide a glasses spacer to give you more space in the headset. You can also get prescription lens adapters, like from widmovr.com/ Chary has these but it may be a little expensive. Sometimes she just plays without any glasses and says it’s fine though. She also has glasses for reading.

For me the "experiences" have been my favorite and most memorable VR moments. I play beatsaber more then anything but so far most of games I've played in VR i just haven't put very much time in them. however the most memorable and amazing like WOW moments I've had in VR is the experiences. And having family over and watching their reactions as they go through the experience is priceless. The Google Spotlight Stories on steam for example are all pretty cool and there are many of them and free. I do hope to see many more experiences and maybe even full length VR movies one day (not 360 movies, those are not great... actual modeled VR movie is what i'm interested in). I do like educational ones too, exploring tombs, Titanic VR was pretty amazing when i played that.

As an old guy, the potential for VR is just blowing my mind! I can see that the pandemic is creating a great demand and what an opportunity for professionals to up their game. Take Physical Therapy, e.g., and the possibility of creating injury specific apps that will target various muscle groups. Many complain that the home exercises should be done but motivation is commonly difficult to maintain. That is an easy fix in VR. But, if we expand VR's application to trauma of a mental and/or emotional kind...wow! In the hands of capable therapists the possibilities here become very exciting. EMDR in VR for PTSD? There is not much to compare with a real live teacher for instruction but VR can provide a setting that will allow shut-ins to learn or teach in ways not possible currently. It is fascinating to watch the explosion of VR technology applications!

Most of my time in VR is actually non gaming. I spend 1hr30mins 3-4 times a week playing table tennis VR (on both Quest 2 and PSVR) which has over the last few months saved my sanity during lockdown and kept me fit and healthy now that I cannot play my normal sports as I did pre lockdown. The rest I spend, watching blu rays on PSVR, and playing my 2D Paystation games on a big screen which is quite sensational playing games like Ghost of Tsushima on a big virtual screen. (ok so I lied, I do play games in VR but not VR games, lol). However, my most profound experience was Anne Frank's Museum that I only just experienced on the new Quest 2. It's proabably because I am already a lover of Anne Frank's Diary and had visited her real museum hiding home in Amsterdam. You can't beat visiting the real places that VR simulates but what this VR experience gave, that the real thing couldn't was a sense of simulated ambience of the time, the sound of the environment as it was then, without any other tourists crowding you. I love that VR can offer experiences that we can only dream of. I am an Amateur astronomer and I took particular delight in manoeuvring inside the International Space Station (ISS), docking Apollo 11, driving a Moon buggy on the moon and doing a space walk! Being a cinema-goer I would have also loved the Big Screen films too but most of their movie events are not available in the UK. The unofficial public created ones were very cool to join in until people started throwing popcorn at the screen and causing chaos! I would love to try the VR theatre and pop concerts that you mentioned, sounds fabulous! I hope we get opportunities in UK to experience those. Thanks for a great video as usual.

Very good video, as an 34yo adult I don't always wanna play video games but rather relax instead, I love VR experiences where you can sit and watch, like Conscious Existence or Ayahuasca Kosmik Journey for educational experiences. I also love to have spaceship experiences like you are in Disneyland, it doesn't always need to be games, or maybe something like dreams where you can just watch it happen, Near Death experiences, schizophrenia, hope they will make more of these things.

I use FitXR almost daily and am looking forward to the "dance" exercises to be released but the most impactful two you have already mentioned (Driving While Black, Anne Frank) another for me was "Notes on Blindness". Oh, something not really in the same vein but the way that VR has enabled me to connect with people worldwide. Not a skype "connect" when I play with friends in VR no matter where they live there is a presence to it, I find myself turning to talk to their avatar. I know I am missing some things but it's been a rollercoaster 18 months since the moment I saw a whale floating over my hand and danced with a robot!

I'm absolutely loving all the Tested content on my Quest2. Im a big fan of Adam Savage and the videos are done so well. I've been so disappointed with many of the 180 and 360 videos mostly due to resolution and framerate... also I feel a bit cross-eyed at times if its not done well. For relaxation I've been playing real VR fishing every day its really nice putting symphony music on and casting away.

I'm pretty new to VR headsets but I already have some experience in 3D graphics and CGI art. I use my Oculus Quest to design things such as rooms and other objects which would be harder to make via PC, designing a room in VR is like designing it in real life with perception of the needing, of space and other factors that cannot be achieved via PC. I then export my sketches to .OBJ ad structure it on PC programs as Blender. I even use some things of Blender with my VR headset, but only for proportions since it is not smooth to work into. Having already something to work on makes the work much simpler.

Thanks for this video! I love narrative content in VR and I'm sure there will be more. I'm hoping for the equivalent of movies. But it will take a while before this new language takes shape. Every new media at its start consists in some kind of easy entertainment and later becomes more sophisticated. So I'm looking forward to a period of VR film experimentation. It would be cool to hear your app suggestions for narrative VR. Thanks!

The VR Concert one is one personally I would LOVE for my band to do but the perform the music we do live would be so intensive (since it's 6 people). We would need AT LEAST 6 VR compatible PCs with a, minimum, one Vive (most ideal if wireless is needed) or Index HMD with 5 Vive Trackers per person along with configuring our "virtual PA" to run everything in sync with our virtual performance. I think we would only need one set of Base Stations but I don't know the supported limit for how many users can be in the same VR Space. Also, how to get the instruments to appear correctly would be very tricky too.

Are there apps that can help people learn better on VR ?
