You Can Make a Scroll Saw Out of a Jigsaw
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Want to make a scroll saw out of a jigsaw? Let's make a Jigsaw Table Jig for intricate cuts on wood projects. This jig was primarily made with scraps. It is stored in small space and the jigsaw is easily removed for storage or for hand held uses. For those of us without a scroll saw, this jig helps us accomplish some woodworking. This jig allows you to use a jigsaw as a scroll saw. Basically, we make a scroll saw out of a jigsaw. This jigsaw cutting station is easy to store when not in use. This jigsaw table makes cutting easy. Enjoy!

Nice work! It’s such a game changer having access to an inverted jigsaw like that. Good idea keeping it as one board too for easy storage, too! And thanks for the shout out!

That's an awesome comment. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I am always looking for ways to save money and space, but the most important thing is being ready when the wife calls for sure.
Thanks big guy . This is the best idea to use an old corded jigsaw I've seen on YT . I've got an old B & D jigsaw, 30+ years old . I simply drilled 4 holes into the face plate , and mounted that way. Can't believe it works so well . From 🇬🇧

That is awesome. Funny how people think B&D is junk but I see some of their tools from the 1980's still running. I hope your jig works out great for you. Since the board I used was black I now spray some white paint on it to help me see where the blade is. Here is a link to short video showing me use it just last week. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iomJlNaRmdHJd84.html Thanks again for watching and commenting.

Update on my jig - still going strong you'll be pleased to hear . I've modified it by attaching a guide at the highest blade saw point when the blade retracts . Some YT clips showed using tiny rollers , I simply cut a kerf out the width of the blade . This was supported on a wooden arm . Hope that makes sense . Looking out for future tips 👌

If ever there was a time to have a foot pedal control brother, this is it. You can get one at Harbor Freight, Lowes, HD just plug in the saw and stomp on the pedal to cut. Nice setup by the way. Thanks for sharing.

Hi why don't u ĺike Philips screws which r the main go to screw in the uk.
@MarriedManWoodworking
2 жыл бұрын
I did not mean to offend anyone and I know there are debates online about this subject. Star drive screws are easier to align with the driver because they are more entry points in a revolution as compared to a phillips screw. Also, phillips head screws are more likely to strip out because of the pressure required to press the driver into the screw head. Again, that is just my experience and opinion. It was not meant to offend. I have used many phillips head screws in my life and they surpass a slotted screw head. thanks for watching and thanks for voicing your concern in the comments.

While you were at Harbor freight, why didn't you just pick up a foot operated power switch instead of going to the clamp and plugging the outlet in and out every time?

@@MarriedManWoodworking You're welcome. I'm glad I could provide some information that might make your life easier. I've attached the link below for the click on, click off switch. They also make a momentary switch that you must keep your foot on to power the tool and simply take your foot off the switch to turn the tool off. I use the momentary switch on my table saw as a safety measure. Have a great week! www.harborfreight.com/power-maintained-foot-switch-96618.html
Fyi my brother a smooth surface glues better than a rough one
@MarriedManWoodworking
2 жыл бұрын
I agree that gluing to smooth wood is better but I did not want to glue to the melamine side. To do that I would need to use a melamine glue or contact cement. I only had tite bond 2 wood glue which worked well gluing wood to the rough MDF side of the board. Thanks for watching and commenting.
