    Probably a good video but I’m refraining myself to watch millennium content so I can explore the game myself and learn by myself too… I watched you live and made me hyped for the game. After I play my first couple of game on release day and a couple after, I’ll be sure to watch all your millennia content ! Have a good day Ursa!!! Huzzah!

    Ancient Seafarers give 10 (5x2) food for fish spots or 8(4x2) if only water, way stronger than any other national spirit at the second age, provided you actually have access to water. Works well even until late game as food is a constant need. No need for pesky farms/plantations with this. Naturalists is good, but keep in mind it renders early game improvements obsolete as none of them will actually provide more than +1 resource (and makes you lose your free +1 food and 0.5 culture, if forest). The removal of the movement penalty in forests is nice as well.

    Mound Builders give x50% food need which is basically the same as making twice as much food. It's even more powerful than the seafarers bonus.

    Local Reforms is obviously not balanced. Feels like it needs a 5-turn cooldown after it runs out, or the boost should only be 25%, not 50%. I like the game and how it has you manage lots of "currencies" in the form of different Domain Points -- something I hope Civ7 will learn from and expand on -- but a harder look reveals Research (Tech) is still the only thing that moves the game forward. I would've loved to see all these Domain Points used for respective "tech" trees. Warfare Points could help you develop new combat tactics and military equipment, just as one example. All your different Domain Point gains could contribute to your "age progression." That way generalized-focused or narrow-focused strategies could push the game forward to a win condition.

  • @gamarus0kragh

    @gamarus0kragh

    A cooldown wouldn't be bad or it could be as with the Eureca and the percentage gain would diminish if you repeat it in the same age (50% to 40%, then 30% ect.)

    you want that lead quicker and more consistantly you start by building town center rather than scout. Yes you can get lucky and get knowledge or gov xp from an early tribal village (with or without the early scout), but you CONSISTENTLY get the 26 gov xp faster by starting town center in to city counsil; tech path is still: tribal elder into scounting and finishing with most discounted among defense, farming and workers.

  • @davidsprenkle2641

    @davidsprenkle2641

    Yes, you can build that Town Center first (that was my go-to strat in the Demo), but then you'll need to tech Scouting first--or be without a scout as the AI snatches up lots of goody huts and landmarks. And because you're not teching Tribal Elders first, you'll be slow to the Council building, which is crucial for early tech. You can't have it all! (Which is a sign of good game design, by the way)

    I've been going down the high culture/local reforms route on my last couple of games and getting ahead of the AI, all the way until I suddenly lose that lead when Enlightenment arrives. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong! One odd thing I have noticed with local reforms in the mid-game is when I choose it, the time to the next tech goes up. Very strange. It's happened often enough for me to revert to using Eureka.

    For me, tech was never the problem--it was the obscene production bonuses on Master/Grand Master that let the AI vomit out tons of units. With their inflated power score, they tend to take an aggressive posture vs the player (if your score is weaker) that leads to aggression. There is also a 50% extra chance for the AI to have the Warmonger trait on GM, which doesn't help things.

  • @UrsaRyan

    @UrsaRyan

    Ай бұрын

    All true, but tech really is important here - with good leaders and tactics buffs, keeping units alive longer lets them level up and MASSIVELY spikes their power. Sure, you won't have as many units as the ai - but if you have well rpomoted, well led units of the highest tech, they can cut through ai units like a knife through butter!!

  • @MrPounceTV

    @MrPounceTV

    Ай бұрын

    @@UrsaRyan Quality over quantity has almost always been the solution in these games on high difficulties. The AI needs those bonuses to keep up; you're almost always outproduced so you have to make what you have go further. Plus, if you're not focusing tech you're risking getting dragged into a bad variant age.

They said my troops are to close to their borders. You mean the 1 scout that got close? Your borders are to close, ok, I take away my outpost, he is happy for 2 turns then he create an outpost in the exact same spot and is mad because my borders are to close again.

    I remember when you played that WW2 simulation game. The first time I was impressed and thinking of getting the game. The second time, when you defeated Germany as Italy, I gave up. This game is similar - there are some specific, arbitrary things you need to do and if you do it you win. Civ 6 is so much better because at every stage it gives you choices that are meaningful and all of which involve trade-offs. Meaningful means, meaningful in real life. We all know the difference between getting slingers and scouts. They both have advantages and disadvantages, and there are other equally legit choices, like building a monument... So I don't think I will be interested in this game.

    your logic about the choice of 5 knowledge or culture was stupid. you used it for 5 culture to get the boost 2 turns early, and the boost gives 5 knowledge after the 5 turns of the boost. OR, you can just unlock the tech faster and get the building up faster. i love you ursa, but sometimes you talk out of your ass. this is one of them. you rambled about rushing the elders, but then dont rush it. now you do get the extra perks of having the boost active 2 turns earlier, but you dont even discuss the actual tech rush and dismiss it as a "trap".

  • @UrsaRyan

    @UrsaRyan

    I think I did a pretty good job of explaining why I like rushing culture - the extra perks of 50% of every income and domain power I think speak for themselves - but if you want to go another way that's fine = ) Just remember, sometimes being right isn't the most important thing. You have to do a good job of explaining yourself and bringing people onside with contructive kindness. You can be as right as you like but if you call someone stupid in the first sentence of your comment, all you're going to do is make someone sad reading it. I'm sure you have some fanatstic logic, just be careful how you push that on others

    You can't "get the building up faster" with a Eureka if there are already other items clogging up your build queue (and in early game Millennia, building is slow). And you can't build very fast at all without that production boast from local reforms. It's a balancing game. Seems to me that, in the early game, Eurekas are situational at best

  • @LLMCxDak

    @LLMCxDak

    Your argument and approach to countering him is stupid. You won't actually get the council any quicker because you still have to build the damn thing and that's takes production which is boosted by local reforms. It is the same approach as looking at a science victory in Civ. Ya need a lot of science to get there sure, but you need production to win it. Same here in Millennia.
