A friend of mine was pulled over at around 2am because the officer said he took too wide of a turn. He voluntarily told the officer that he drank one beer several hours ago and that he takes prescription medication for his thyroid. He then submitted to a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI. Back at the station he blew 000 but was charged anyway based on what he had told the officer. He learned the hard way why you should never talk to the police.
