@@victoryho-sangtvsuch a good question! I am considering it and that is a question I asked myself is “will it age me”
I restarted my locs twice from ages 19 to 29. Dealing with comments from friends and family and pregnancy hormones. The final time I was 3 kids in a realized that it was my hair, and I loved how locs made me feel more confident with myself. Once I stopped caring and owned my locs. It made me better in other areas of my life. 10 years later, I am just enjoying life and my loc journey. 😊

My loc journey is not related to vanity, or spirituality. My loc journey is totally related to easier to manage natural hair. I went natural for 10 years before I loc'd my hair. I got tired of all the work it took to maintain my natural hair and was convinced by a nephew to just loc it up.

Same 😮
I made the decision to lock my hair earlier this year and I’ve always preferred thick locs (especially when I was considering what I want for myself because I like my hair to have volume), and let me tell you the least supportive people have been my family members. My mom especially because she’s a Caribbean person and we have no one with locs in our family. I’ve already been told multiple times that people don’t like them, that they look “scary”, that they’re shaped weird, that I looked better with loose hair. But me and my locs are thriving, they’ve grown and developed so much in such a short period of time and I’m so proud of them. I was considering doing Marley braids because I have a big move coming up and I wanted some more convenience since my locs are at a sort of mid-length now (they’re shoulder length, from ear length when I started) but honestly they’re sitting really nicely and maybe I’m just finally starting to have good hair days because they’ve really been having a blast up there doing what they want up till the past two-ish weeks (I’m 5 months in). I went into this just wanting to live a better lifestyle and center myself in my own life so I can find my authentic self, and I wasn’t prepared for how spiritual this journey has been. I watched a lot of videos before I decided to loc and almost all of them said that locking is a spiritual journey and a journey to self-love and acceptance, I really should’ve listened to them because when I tell you I’ve never been so face to face with my trauma and finally having the strength to jump some serious hurdles. Whatever I decide to do, I’m really glad I stumbled across this video because the loc community has been so supportive and I’ve honestly never felt more *me*. My locs really are an extension of myself, and I was never a person who felt attached to their hair. Here’s to 5 months and many more 💕

Thank you Goddess my wife and son have had their locs for 4 years now, and they are beautiful. You touched every subject I had in my head. I have worn all the hair styles known to women, and now all the chemicals in hair and things have changed my mind. I have course hair, very nappy. I'm ready 💪 u sealed my research journey.
I've had my locs for 3 years now. I've thought about combing them out a lot in the beginning but I kept telling myself its gonna pay off, how it is now is temporary and you're manifesting beautiful locs. Three years later i LOVE my locs and they're a little over bra strap length now. I love it here.
I have had locs for 4 years, I thought about combing them out because I missed my loose natural hair that I wore for 10 years. Then I remembered how much work it was and why I got locs in the 1st place. I'm so glad that I found your channel.
It took me until my late 40's. I know now many are taking them out. I have had every hairstyle known to man. I have even had an afro for a while, but even that was a chore for me. I love my locs. I love who I am still becoming. I really dont care what people think or how they look at me anymore. My hair is created for this style. We are not perfect, and we do not need to compare. I love this message. I'm subscribing! Thank you.

I'm LOCT for LIFE I absolutely love my LOCS❤❤ Best Decision I ever made
I’m on my 3rd set of locs. It was never a problem that caused me to cut them off. It was never a plan to have them forever, even now. I’ve had natural hair for 25 years. I’m committed to natural hair sometimes I want locs and other times I want it loose or shaved. I can’t imagine keeping the same style my entire life.
So much facts. Why I'm on my 3rd set now. I was natural for a decade but I'm the only one locd in my family and at my job and friends and family kept telling me they don't like locs and I shud just straighten it. 😮. Anyways. 1.5yrs in and u can't tell me nothing lol.

Thank you for posting this video. :) TLDR: I had locs when I was 8. My dads gf at the time cut my hair while I was asleep because she said it looks like spiders. Needless to say I had some hair trauma for 3 years. I hated having perms, braids and extensions in the form of braids or twists. My hair is super thick and dense so it was bothersome. I am 22 now and have been natural for 11 years. Did a big chop and now my hair is long again. I really want to get locs again. I have 4C and love my natural hair. I just need the right loc-tition in my area. I don’t just want anyone to loc my hair. Plus I’m in tech/corporate and university but I already stand out. I just want to wear my hair and not have to get extensions.
I mean this is THE BEST video I have seen.

I don’t have the face for short hair. 😭 however with a baby, taking hair of my natural hair, including dying, was too much and also it always stayed the same length and with locs im hoping to gain length over time. Yes, definitely! you can use a pair of small scissors or a thin crochet hook to gently loosen and separate the loc. Just be sure to work slowly and carefully to avoid damaging your hair or causing any unnecessary breakage. Additionally, you can try using your fingers to separate the loc if it's not too tightly matted together. Again, patience is key! ❤️

I like some other ppls locs if they're well-kept but I tried twice and combed them out each time. I prefer my natural loose curls. My locs made me look too masculine in the face. There's no way I'm ever going to feel comfortable looking like a man in the face so that's just that. Still comfortable in my own skin, just didn't personally like the look on myself. (This was MY personal experience I'm not saying other women look masculine with them).
