In fact, yoshi's new island never existed. It was a terrible fangame Nintendo DMCA'd 3 seconds after lainch.

This was really intense for Yoshi's Island. It went from a nice and cute environment to an apocalyptic hell lol. And to me i think the credits after the boss were really beautiful.

GarredHATES well, mario does rescue yoshis friends in world, and free him from the egg bowser trapped him in several times, and if you played galaxy 2, you would know that the yoshis never actually die; they turn into an egg and teleport away, but I do see why you might think that.

It makes me curious about the Koopa troops backstory before bowser was around. Since Kamek was the original leader way before Bowser was even born, or maybe bowsers parents were?. I always thought Bowser created the Koopa troop but clearly he was just a prodigy to become the new ruler later on once he grew up

Coming to America in 1996 my parents were poor looking for opportunities. They didn't have much money and we lived in a pretty poor neighborhood were we were robbed on a few occasions. On my 7th birthday they bought my a SNES with this game. This was a big part of my childhood and I wont forget it :')

This is what final bosses are supposed to be like spot on, the music, the tension ohh my god THE TENSION!! You felt as if you were being challenged all the while crapping your pants. I remember so clearly how scared Baby bowser made me running at the screen but it made it all the more satisfying when i beat it... Nintendo has gone away from this sorta thing. Its time for a comeback, dont baby this generation with bosses like the new yoshi's island 3ds. Allow them the same moving gaming experience us 90s kids had

Man you could really tell that the player was panicking because they started jumping everywhere and trying to desperately throw eggs at baby bowser. They also started panicking a lot when mario was off his back. Props for beating it. I know I would've died if he ran at me

I remember when I was really young, I had a nightmare about this boss fight. Everyone in the neighborhood was gone, it was just me. My parents, my sister and my friends were gone, it was just me, alone. Then the TV turned on and I saw Giant Baby Bowser rising from the black foreground. I ran around the neighborhood, running inside the neighbors houses to check if anyone was still around. Every TV I saw was Baby Bowser, coming towards the screen in that eerie way. Every house I looked, noone was there, and he kept coming closer toward the screen. Luckily I woke up before he made it all the way. Regardless, it's amazing how an epic boss fight such as this had such an impact on me!

nikozua the remake is just advanced graphics but had minor differences. I wonder why Bowser doesn't come running at you like a stampede on crack in the remake. The most likely theory is that it was too scary for a E rated game.

I am actually quite glad that the uploader screwed up in the first half of the fight. It shows how easy the first fight is to screw up, and how you need to pay attention and know when to counter-pound. Unlike most youtubers who have to have a PERFECT RUN NO DAMAGE ALL COLLECTIBLES SPEEDRUN THAT BOSS! This uploader shows flaws and takes some time. A+!

This and everyone involved with this deserve an award and more. From the plot, to the background, to the MUSIC, to the dynamics, to the stress, to the actual ending. Everything about this was amazing.

SNES sound is made up of sampled audio, so game developers would often record a real instrument playing a few notes, then implement the recordings of those notes into the game's ROM. Then the SNES's sound hardware can play back those notes at different speeds to make music. Like a MIDI or MOD file.

This boss set me up for disappointment with most games I played afterwards... we got Yoshi’s Island bundled with our SNES, our first console on Christmas 1995 (I still have both, of course!). I was 10 years old at the time. I still remember vividly playing the final level and then Baby Bowser. When he was transformed by Kamek, the howling intro to the final boss theme started and he appeared ominously on the TV I was so freaked out. This is what a final boss is meant to be. It was bloody challenging, I spent a couple nights in frustration trying to work out my aim, after the second phase when the ground crumbles away it was panic central. I threw my controller just a few times haha. But the huge satisfaction of beating Baby Bowser and reuniting Mario with his family will stick with me to the day I die. The first game I played right through to the end, and my god was it worth it. The best game on the SNES, and one of the best of all time IMHO,

This game has such great graphics. I'm still at awe when I see this.

Admit it. The final boss music is epic.

This credits in this game really showcases the audio capabilities of the SNES. Can't wait for the new game that's coming out :)

I remember getting to this stage when I was 6 or 7, and I started freaking out when Bowser started getting closer.

The real enemy during this fight was depth perception.

This video game is my definitive nostalgia, I can't watch this Bowser fight without crying, I really don't know why, but it makes me very melancholy, It reminds me of watching my uncle play, I shared many moments with him and video games in my childhood, He is fine, he just made his life, he had a family, he stopped playing and we really separated from what united us, I had a tough childhood, I guess that's why it makes me want to cry...

It only makes sense that the green Yoshi who started the whole adventure is the one who reunited the Bros.

The best game of my childhood!!! :D

i love how the castle stage is taking place at night and how dawn is breaking just as the final confrontation begins it makes an amazing atmosphere and its really eerie.

I played this game a lot when I was around 4-5 yrs old. Every time I got to this part especially when baby bowser gets big, I would ask my brothers to help me out because I would get terrified. Now my 4 yr old plays the game and asks me for help

This is a primary example of a final boss DONE RIGHT. The eerie tension of the enviroment, the slowly rising presence of Bowser Jr. In the distance, the heavy metal that plays in contrast to the cutesy music you where used to led to one unforgettable fight.

i'm sorry if I get disagreed but this final boss battle is quite simply the most terrifying boss ever in any game

Can we stop for a moment to appreciate how good this gameplay is? well paced, hitting and missing so we can see baby bowser attacks, letting the eggs to fail to let bower get closer, this is a gameplay truly focused on the viewer, not just a simple speedrun like many others. Congrats

The amount of times I have completed this and never realised until now. You don't need to wait until Bowsers mouth opens to chuck the egg in there. Mind blown..

I love how in this game you didn’t lose from health or armor etc. You lost because you failed to protect baby Mario

For those wondering... Yoshi's New Island's final boss is outright terrible. No challenge. No epic music. And it has the most inane, random "twist" that serves no real purpose. Stick with the original, folks. Yoshi's New Island is just another lackluster 3DS experience.

I agree. I didn't like how they didn't have the rock theme for the new Yoshi's Island and they didn't have baby bowser running towards the screen like they did with this one!

And when adult bowser came, that was just downright random

This game had some of the most creative boss battles in the history of gaming

This battle seems like a kid's version of Giygas

I've got goosebumps. I loved this game so much as a kid.

When that pan flute/pipe kicks in at 8:55 I get actual chills and am immediately transported back to when I was 10 years old and beat this game for the first time. I’m 27 now and am trying to hold back tears

Nostalgic. This is one of the most epic final bosses in videogame history. And the ending is really exciting. Always makes me cry like a baby

itsTawi I realized there is some differences in level designs and I think more levels and don't forget the hub world and when you can see all the castles

@@subjekt0345 yeah the screen resolution and the color palette, and perhaps what @Africa pointed out too, but is it really THAT different? if you don't emulate it you get the best experience, and probably a similar one to the SNES version.

When I played this as a child, this bossfight made my heart beat extremely fast..

just watching this boss battle made me realize"go get this game now!!" and i did!! i spent $55 on this lol

I laid 4 bucks for an emulator but not the same experience without the controller.

Imagine playing a game that has everything drawn with crayons by some toddler and then turn into absolute hell because of some damn turtle wanting to ride some donkey.

Ahhh, so many memories. This will a always be my favorite Mario game. The 1st phase was so tricky I remember, but then was easy once you understood what to do.

It’s incredible how my brain *instantly remembers* a beat and fight sequence that I haven’t seen or listened to in literally decades.

5:08 Says the person who tried kidnapping a baby, kidnapping the stork that tried delivering then, and attempting to prevent his brother and an innocent creature from saving him literally 10 times.

The ending was so amazing and the music was emotional .

This final battle goes unbelievably hard for NO reason. I love it.

I still get chills when Bowser first comes up as a giant. Blew my mind as a kid
