York, ME Truck 8 and Engine 4 Responding to a Fire Alarm Activation at Meadowbrook Plaza during Harvestfest. York Street was down to one lane, shut down to inbound traffic. Squad 1 also responded from another call. Thousands of people attend Harvestfest in the Village each year. This year was no acception.

We are a volunteer department with 3 Full Time firefighters, one on each day. They work 24 on with 48 off. So...understaffed...that depends how you look at it. We get a lot of members who drive their personal vehicles to the scene, and one or two people will go to the station to grab the trucks. Its hit or miss...

I like the way you handled the stop light you stopped & made sure everyone else saw you you you used the Q & air horns to perfection. I have just one question though. Is THAT a commercial radio in the truck? Nothing wrong if there is just unusual is all.

I have to agree to a point. But a Q is still the best when it comes to alerting traffic. Its so easy to overdrive the electronic siren and not notice it.
