Yogurt Under the Microscope

Ғылым және технология

Microscopic footage of commercial yogurt.
I used a tryptic soy agar petri dish to grow the microbes in yogurt. It was incubated for 24 hours at 37 degrees Celsius.
Camera - Nikon D3300
Microscope - Leica ATC 2000
Microscope magnification of each shot is shown in the bottom right hand corner.

I think it might be interesting to see the effect of soap on bacteria under the microscope in a future video. As for this one, it was great as usual, your original music fits the video so very well.

soap i believe, has very little effect on bacteria other than literally helping wash it off your hands.

@@fishinginthedeep940 I think he will need a electron microscope to see any diference... The amount of bacteria is too small and we can't see diferences between live or dead bacteria with that magnification. He can do a culture of normal and cleaned hands (I think he already did that).

The music on your videos remind me of a time I was alone in the rocky mountains, it was summer time but it was snowing and very cold. There were some coyotes yipping together in the valley. I had breakfast in a small boardhouse and there was an old man playing his guitar by the window, but no radio playing. His guitar sounded like yours

Have you considered mold from blue cheese? Also maybe ready-to-eat salads or flour would be interesting, since I have read that those have been contaminated quite frequently in recent times. (From what I understand, people used to think that nothing thrives in flour, whereas recently it apparently has become more dangerous than raw eggs.)
