Discussion did not focus on the key aspects of योगसूत्र viz वृत्ति, क्लेश, कर्म, गुण, पुरुष, प्रकृति, types of समाधि, idea of time, चित्त, how does बुद्धि cognize विषय, etc - an opportunity lost......

@@smritisrivastava 1) Study & Practice of Yoga by Swami Krishnananda 2) Yogasutra by Edwin Bryant 3) Yogasutra by Swami Vivekananda 4) Yogasutra by Hariharananda Aranya. All these available on Internet. Note however that the topic is difficult. Vivekanda commentary is short while Edwin Bryant style is easy to understand. And the others are written for those who want to practice (much more difficult but with patience, much more rewarding)

@@ADAM-yr1fk you could not be more wrong. Please do some homework: 1. The story of Patanjali's birth. 2. Who was his Guru? 3. What was his relationship with Tirumilar. Who was he and what did he write? 4. Go to Chidambaram. What is the relevance? 5. Throughly read the Yoga Sutras. 6. What is Veebhuti? 7. Who is Isvara? Please do some research before passing on bad information.

@@dharmayogaashram979 I am not wrong. There is hardly any credible information available for Patanjali. What you are stating is the version cooked up by Tamil Shaiva Siddhanta tradition which stated that Patanjali learnt yoga from Nandikeshwara. It is not a historical fact. Ishwara in Yog Sutras had no relevance to personified Shiva of Shaivism. Ishwara of Patanjali has not even been credited with creatorship. Patanjali goes hand in hand with dualistic Sankhya ( ofc with the exception of Ishwara ).

@@ADAM-yr1fk your crude and disrespectful phrase about "cooked up" by the Tamils could be used by any extremist sectarian. Why could you not answer the questions? What is your sampradaya? Are you interested in a united Hindu family? Do you not realize how the Yoga Sutras have been totally distorted by the massive modern spurious yoga movement, which is also a grave insult to the Saiva Hindu Guru Patanjali?

@@dharmayogaashram979 I am saying it once again. Neither Patanjali was a Shaiva, nor Patanjali's yoga sutras reflects Shaivism. It is a later belief of Shaiva Siddhanta school that Patanjali was taught yoga by Nandi just like people believe that Patanjali was an incarnation of Adi Sesa. Both the claims are baseless.
