Interesting tidbit, Luke Rockhold and Rob Whittaker both said the same shit about Romero. After his second fight with Romero, Rob said Romero felt completely different from the first time they fought. He joked about a new rehydration plan and how hitting Romero actually hurt, and he felt Yoel was made of steel. Luke said the same thing. He's made of steel and it hurts to even land on him.

Luke landed a hard kick in the first round that Yoel checked, which split Luke’s shin open. Yoel thought his leg was broken, but it wasn’t. That’s how hard Luke was throwing that kick. He’s always spamming that left kick. Like no wonder he’s had so many problems with that shin.

It's crazy as well that even in the 2nd fight, Whittaker broke Romero's orbital with a headkick. Let alone how Yoel the Cuban experiment then carried on and secured at least one 10-8.

Luke was catching romero with some very good shots but it seemed like they had no effect on him

You have to give Luke credit at least he fought him and he wasn't running the entire time. I think Costa is the only person I have seen that has actually beat Romero... Izzy ran for his life after getting hit once and then they didn't even fight anymore after that. Romero is probably the scariest fighter ever at 185.

@@cbryan3549 defensively, he isn't technical at all. He has a horrible habit of not bringing his guard up, and when a fighter blitzes him, he moves in a perfectly straight line backwards. There's no lateral movement whatsoever. His kicks are stellar, can't deny that. But his defense is anything but technical

If Rockhold hasn't figured out how to move off the center line, he's getting knocked out by Costa. Dude moves in a perfect straight line every single time and that's like perfectly in line with what Costa wants him to do lol. If he's figured out how to move laterally though, I could see Rockhold posing some problems

@@oldironsides4107 The defensive application still works in MMA. Cruz got KO'd on the fenceline where he can only go 2 directions. In open space taking angles is incredibly effective, especially for setting up powerful counters. What happened to Cruz isn't really that relevant to OPs argument.
