Frieren is about a long-lived elf who not only has to deal with the passing of her comrades, but the passing of time as a whole. Madhouse did an INCREDIBLE job animating this masterpiece manga. Can you believe there's some asshats who say this doesn't fit the series? What morons. As a manga reader, this fits perfectly.

So "Yuusha" is commonly translated to "Brave", but it is using brave as a noun. While not incorrect, a closer translation to English is "Hero". Story is what the title says: The life an an elf after finishing the "main quest" with their party. I won't spoil anything else.

Yuusha is a masterpiece! It's rare to find a recent fantasy anime opening this good since Dorohedoro, every detail just immaculate. YOASOBI really outdid themselves with this one, that breath section & piano run was insane but overall the whole song is technically impressive. Underrated.

the character names are: Frieren the mage Fern the mage aprentice Himmel the hero Heiter the priest Eisen the warrior they all have german names

Oh huh, the autosubs were actually not completely terrible. Still nothing compared to actually reading a proper translation of the lyrics though, they're beautiful. Music video is a similar case to Oshi no Ko where the footage is not directly from the anime but is from the same staff and features the same characters

The anime is absolutely worth a viewing, reacting or not. And, if the level of quality is maintained, it will be a masterpiece - just like the manga is. if you can find and read a better translation of the OP, you will have a pretty good explanation of what the show is about. Like Ancient Magus Bride, it is a "slice of life" with sometimes EPIC content. Just , be ready to have expectations and see them them subverted, re-subverted, and again, and again...

Ignore those subs, that kind of auto translation is so bad that it might as well be completely random text, so quite frankly you're better off without any subs until you find a proper, human translation. On another note, the series is great so far. If it continues to be as good as it has been then it's definitely highly recommended. Just don't go in expecting an epic, action filled adventure, but rather something more beautiful and emotional set in the aftermath of an epic adventure.

I love this Music Video. (Its not the OP btw. The OP is shorter and has different visuals. Watch it) The first time we see her sleeping, she's in pain, emotionally. Then the second half of the song happens, in parallel to the second journey, and in the end, she is lying in sleep, happy, cradling an egg of flowers and light. That is the inverse of the Angels Egg anime and also resembles Filianore from Darksouls 3 in a way. It's just so good.
