I mean they probably just wanted to replicate the stage from the off broadway og version, and that was a very simple stage. Really the only difference from this and the original stage/prop wise is the rope thing she uses

(or that approximately) if she didn't turn to his side and decide to help him blow up the school he would've just gotten rid of her.

Everyone's talking about how the JD is so great but I'm honestly amazed by the Veronica! The reactions she has to everything, the way she was fighting tears or crying the whole time, it really gave her the emotions that she lacks have in other versions

I hate that I could hardly hear JD at my fave part ;;; but everything else was amazing xD loveeeeed the mom😂😂😂

He is so attractive.

I literally had to pause when she said "Martha, I'm so sorry" because the emotion seemed so real, it almost made me wanna cry too.

I lost count of how many times I've seen this video. This JD is A W E S O M E I just love his approach to the character, really outlines JD's aggressiveness and general instability. And the vocals? Jeez! Absolutely perfect

Holy crap their acting is amazing?? Especially J.D and Veronica's mom like blessI didn't care too much about the singing though. But the way that they portray emotion is really convincing and great

All JD had to say was "Knock knock" and I got chills

I'm so glad I found Enter Stage Left's production of Heathers! ALL of these performances give me chills! The acting! The singing! The movements! So amazing I am so giddy!

Oh my gosh and I just loved that moment when Veronica was getting persuaded by JD and she reached for the closet door! Such a believable moment.

Seriously though - This cast was on it. Who cares if they don't look like the Off-Bway cast? They aren't them. I was impressed. And "Meant To Be Yours" is a HARD ASS song to sing. It's WAY up in the rafters, and the tempo changes all over the place, plus acting it and keeping the adrenaline going for the anxiousness of the situation, but not let it shoot you through the song too fast. I love the little touches they threw in and the staging. Bravo, Enter Stage Left company!

I actually think the slightly exaggerated parents work really well in "Yo Girl" as it's sort of showing Veronica descend into madness - she's already seeing ghosts, she's convinced she's about to die, she's hardly in a good state of mind.

The first lines after Yo girl ends are usually spoken as if the JD wants her to listen to him, but here he sounds sarcastic and I love it

I love how when he is talking about how they are meant to be together she starts reaching for the door, but as soon as his tone of voice changed she was like "nope."

Really love this version of JD. I mean the facial expressions was a plus because it's hard trying to act and sing at teh same time but he delievered it so well giving us a better glimpse of how insane JD is. And THAT KISS! It seals the deal.

Little details like Veronica getting startled by the "BAM BAM BAM" really sell this performance for me.

I liked heather chandler, ram and curt, but I felt like JD kinda just attacked the song? Like his acting was good but when he was singing other then the bit where he finds Veronica, he wasn't as worried about the actual notes or tune it was mainly about making the whole song angry and shouty, what makes this song so powerful for me is it showed how disturbed JD was and how unstable he was- through the variation in the song. One minute he would sound gentle and loving, hence why Veronica was temped to open up, but then he starts to get angry again and would be psychotic and reveal his plans to kill everyone. Gosh I probably sound really mean, I did genuinely enjoy this, I just wish JD could have varied his voice more between the softer parts and the not soft parts. 10/10 for the mum though 😂
