I came up with some fucked up concepts with this premise, one of them is imagine an imaginary friend comes into existence, but hates its existence and is constantly suffering, like, it's the definition of "I didn't ask to be born." The other one was what if an imaginary friend gets abandoned by their child, since they grew up, but can never find a new home because adults don't take interest in them due to them being "too weird", and for some reason other kids don't find interest in them. Both ideas are probably more interesting than the actual movie's plot.

Unironically Disney made a more interesting version of the abandoned imaginary friend concept in the 90’s called ‘Don’t Look Under The Bed’. Not only was the imaginary friend a humanoid, as most imaginary friends tend to actually be, but it had a very mature message about growing up and growing out of childish habits and whims. Also IF is just very blatantly derivative of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, but that goes without saying.

The other one was what if an imaginary friend gets abandoned by their child, since they grew up, but can never find a new home because adults don't take interest in them due to them being "too weird", and for some reason other kids don't find interest in them. Both ideas are probably more interesting than the actual movie's plot.

Is that why i thought this was gonna secretly be a horror film? They all LOOK THE SAME!!!!
I love how he's not just Grimace, he's Grimace Shake.

That was one of my favourite movies as kid, I’d get excited whenever it was advertised for the weekend movie blocks. Also the IFs is killing me like I get they wanna shorten it and have a slang term for their movie but of my god it sounds so lame I’d actually take a live action Foster’s Home or Imaginary Friends over this trying to not be Foster’s

I’ll check that movie out sometime.
it’s funny that they chose a song about being old and depressed that you don’t talk to any of your friends anymore for their epic whimsical childhood fantasy movie.

Well, it's the juxtaposition that makes it ART you see! Remember when you were young and happy as opposed to old and depressed. Come watch our movie!

I lowkey feel bad for LCD Soundsystem having their song being used in this awful trailer.

I mean to be fair it does make sense with the plot being about abandoned imaginary friends. That said this looks very bland and uninteresting
This trailer gives off Dolittle vibes. Just turn the inspirational music up to 150% and that immediately makes this a profound, prestige family film. The tone of the film will not remotely resemble the tone of this trailer.

I just realized that!
Imagine Ryan Reynolds looking up reactions to the trailer. Finds this video, has no idea who Adam is and hears the first minute or so about him having brain dementia for not uploading in 4k.
Hollywood's creativeness is nearing bankruptcy.
This feels like it was shot as a horror movie but hastily retooled in editing to become whimsical instead of ominous.
Wait...this is just Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, but made with bland adults.
This is reminding of that NFT show that had it's main lead get held hostage.
I saw this trailer in the theater and I was trying not to giggle with how ridiculous it was
Some people in the chat pointed it out, but it's interesting to me how like all of the jokes in the trailer aren't even jokes.
The other day I looked at upcoming movies and saw this, and the first thing I noticed was how AWFUL the design team was. These look so so weak and boring. You could just have kids draw their imaginary friend or what they think of and use those. Besides it being so similar to foster home, the look and feel of this movie is so bland and just...pathetic. Like these designs are so weak and boring, it's crazy to me that this is a real movie.

Like, Little Miss Cuphead near the beginning is at least a storyboard sketch that could go somewhere, but that's some thin goddamn gruel for what's supposed to be a film about the wonders of imagination.
The purple monster is just fucking grimice but fatter lamo
Christopher Meloni was, interestingly, in a TV show called Happy! where he talked to an imaginary cartoon dragon thing. He was also on Law and Order SVU and OZ.
I am autistic and I do advocate for the abolishment of car-centric urbanism and the development of vast rail networks for both comercial and transportational pourposes.
that movie title is just missing a Y and an extra F.

So “FIFY”?
Nope. Ryan couldn’t save this movie if it was a literal fish out of water and all he had to do was throw back it into a pond.
That character looks like a mix of Grimace, that alien from Home and a rejected Monsters Inc character.
Those 3D models look like someone's first project in Blender.
I’m sure someone already said this but “Drop Dead Fred” came out in 1991 and was about an imaginary friend whose kid is grown up.
You are really great Olivia! Your editing and eventual comments really help elevate the highlights and I am thankful for the work you put into these videos to help us who cant catch Adam's livestreams due to being in diferent timezones and whatnot. Also, I love to hear the name of the patreons in the end, feels like some kind of parade from the proud supporters of the channel, and even though I cant contribute myself I like send my thanks for the ones who can.
wait wait this is just the premise of Happy! on netflix. i knew recognized it. literally just imaginary friends if they still existed, this is just the non Ted version
Everything Rayan Reynolds does is just him playing dead pool and that's it.
I feel like this could be to Foster’s what Monster’s Inc. is to Little Monsters

Scratch that, reverse it.
I think this movie’s biggest problem will be that “If” isn’t eye-catching enough of a title. Now if they added another F and a Y on the other hand…

This is giving me R.I.P.D. vibes which happens to be a Ryan Reynolds movie as well as the Christmas movie he did with Will Farrell in 22
Sad that Adam didn’t watch the trailer where they spend a full minute sitting there naming celebrities in the film
There’s a film by Studio Ponoc (the same studio that made Mary and the Witch’s Flower) called The imaginary. It seemed like it handled the concept of imaginary friend better. Also, it is more visually engaging.
This looks like a movie that my 48 year old mom would want to watch
Olivia, your ending message was soooooo sweet 😭 I want you to know that you are so incredibly supported and embraced here. So proud to be a YMS Highlights girly 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Seeing extra time leftover when we fade from Adam means words from Olivia. You do good work and hope you continue to get support from the fans, Olivia.
The nostalgia capitalizing feels cynical
Reynolds looks like poor man's Nick Cage
Not only do they have the problem of this concept being done much better in Foster’s, but this movie feels like something that should been left in the 2010’s, like if this movie were made a decade ago maybe it would have had a chance but there no hope for this at this time. Also them trying to make a slang term to attach to their movie instead just saying imaginary friend and they came up with IF, oh my god it sounds so lame
Feel like this would look better animated
All the imaginary characters don't even look like a kid made them. It looks like a kid's idea filtered through an adult. Bland
I'm curious to know what Krasinski stole this one from. Oh, so it's literally just Foster's.
I still remember seeing a behind the scenes promo for this shortly after this came out and Ryan did the mouth open pointing behind him meme.
this winter has been rough for me, coldest ever and next to no sun. :( so i love your videos, i usually have your channel playing in the background when im working and it helps. im glad youre feeling better! and i hope good things happen in your new year ☆
Why does this look like an NFT animation
We love you, Olivia! Thank you for your videos!! ❤
This is ripped almost straight out of Foster's if you're talking about 'Hasn't this been done?"

Olivia Its really wonderful to hear your message at the end of this video im happy you got to express yourself and learn to love yourself more that an amazing thing to accomplish also awesome that using your lil oc got such a great reaction love that growth much love 💪💌
This movie actually scared me. I kid you not this is one of the worst looking film trailers I have ever seen. I can not exaggerate how creepy, terrifying and gross this movie looks. I hate it so much. Fuck this movie
Who is this FOR?
This looks like it's taking the fun of "imaginary friends are real," and turning it into work.
This reminds me of that failed Seth Green NFT show
Committee approved and cleansed: the movie
2:28 IMAGINATION!!! IMAGINATION!!!! IMAGINATION!!! Could’ve been like a Wonder Showzen type of saying “IMAGINATION!!!”
You bring me adum content I'd never see otherwise cuz I don't follow his twitch that much. Your work is much appreciated and I'm glad you're in a better head space now. You deserve it
We love you, Olivia! 😊
1:00 It's always a good sign when your big dramatic trailer moment is grammatically incorrect (subjunctive mood always uses "were", not "was")! That's a worse sin that not uploading in 4k, if you ask me...
These uh? 'Creatures' all scream "designed by adults trying to appeal to kids". Imagine if they had actually gotten kids to come up with the imaginary friends. Don't think it'd save the movie, but it'd be a hell of a lot less embarrassing.
I feel like this might have been better if it was completely animated, but then it would be compared to Foster’s even more…
John Cringesinski

Hate to say it, but Jon Stewart is kind of a kiss of death....also Awkwafina.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who saw the trailer for this film and immediately thought: "this film was made with no imagination at all and is scraping the bottom of the barrel and just looks embarassing."
Happy video 500!!!
This looks beyond stupid and annoying, even for a kids movie. 1/10
I really liked A Quiet Place, but this looks like a step backwards for Krasinski. Overuse of bad CGI, jokes that insist upon themselves and are drawn out, and a very predictable plot. I had to check, and Krasinski did not write (only directed) A Quiet Place, whereas he is the writer and director for this. I’m curious if watching this might give Adam more appreciation for A Quiet Place.
Does Cool Cat make a cameo, Adum ?
Glad you are feeling better Olivia. Your editing is certainly great, and I always appreciate the flourishes you add in.
mentioning 'Fosters' made this seem soooo much worse in comparison hopefully it's great and people love it, but..... Krasinski.....
6:30 asking the real questions out here
Nice shirt you have on by the way. Edited: Also Olivia, you look so pretty.
I'll stick with "Drop Dead Fred" and "Happy!" for my imaginary friend stories.
it’s been nice getting to know you olivia!
Is anyone else getting A.I generated image vibes from some of these character designs? They all have that lifeless corporate look too
Christopher Meloni was in a Netflix series with pretty much the same plot.
It would probably be fine if the character design was interesting... But there's nothing worse than a half baked premise with bad character design.
this is the most uncanny-valley cartoon+live action combo I've seen in my life, and I follow them since Roger Rabbit.
Upon my first viewing of this trailer, I honestly thought this was going to be a Foster's Home for imaginary Friends live-action reboot.
DIMENSIONAL MERGE?
didn't know it wasn't adam running the channel, wish you the best pal!
Yes it was done before it was called drop dead Fred
john kraminski should imagine a less sickeningly generic font
My imaginary friend was Blanka from Street Fighter II and that shit would be terrifying. I like the design of the bee-lady creature, can't wait for the r34 of her.

That's what I said! There's gonna be so much porn of that rubberhose bug lady and it'll have better graphics than this movie😂
What if... movies weren't allowed to use licensed music.
Talking too much about your imaginary friend and you end up in the hospital. Like Bing Bong from Inside Out, If should be the actual villain of the story. It's not like the Spiritual Network, which you can actually hear with a home theater tuner...
It says a lot about the state of Hollywood that some guy who owns a gin company can just buy the leading role in a major movie.
From the imagination of john krasinski watching Drop Dead Fred...and it's weird that Chris Meloni is in this since he was in Happy, which this also feels like
Sure Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends comes to mind but also Drop Dead Fred did the whole imaginary friend thing too! Although that's definitely not a kids film lmao
i know i shouldnt even care so much but these lackluster zero effort drab designs make me depressed. wheres the creativity! the imagination!!! kids deserve weird ass, fun and unique characters, not whatever theyre trying to do here
