Normally I am not a huge yin fan, but I really enjoyed this one, Joelle! For me, holding the poses for only a couple minutes rather than 5 is much more doable, but still effective. So this was perfect. Thank you! Namaste. 🙏💗

I love this deer pose. Some days my version is to stay sitting tall because I can get comfortable sacro illiac joint movement. I like slowly adjusting the angles of the knees to get satisfying clicks in that stiff joint.

Joelle, do you recommend a certain breathing pattern, when doing yin yoga?

Good question! Generally speaking we want the breath to not feel forced. So it'll depend slightly on the practice and its focus, but in most of my own yin practices I like to make the exhale just a little bit longer than the inhale. So you could experiment, for example, with breathing in for a slow count of 4 and breathing out for a slow count of 6. See how that feels and if over time you find that it can become a bit more "natural." I hope that helps!
