    Except for two bags of slime, the boxes were really good! 🥰🐢💤

    last 2 bags I got from morrisons were all bread - seriously all bread . I don't eat bread, my husband eats very little bread. One of the bags was for an elderly neighbour who cant get to shops so i just gave her pennies back to her. I would normally share the bread but other than 4 rolls the rest was brick hard and unusable unless you cook it in another way. Last 2 boxes from Aldi looked great, but the chicken was off. Use by day we collected but I think they are not refrigerated up til time of collection. Last order was cancelled . when we were already there to collect - not best track record for either so far.

    the best tip for bread is reheat it in the oven at 200 celsius for 5 minutes usually the bread is fine again. And it's a downside that you have no control of what you get but that is the whole concept

    Has morrisons stopped doing normal clearance sale in favour of a lucky dip system. I don't understand why anyone would buy a bag of mystery food.

    I made oil coriander cubes, they didn't work out great, might have been me but enough coriander flavour. But with the other half of bunch, froze the leaves and stalks separately. These worked out much better for me. For the leaves, use them frozen, straight on to currry or what ever or they go slimy. Flash freeze them on tray like say raspberries before bagging /putting in container.

    Yes I think they’d be best cooked into something rather than used as garnish. Fresh is best but at least they didn’t go to waste 😊 xx

    If they would just sell pomegranate seeds like that i would buy them more. The last time the whole kitchen was reddish pink after removing the seeds from the shell. It's not worth it but packets like these would be lovely.

    I prefer to visit the supermarkets just after they've done the final reductions for the section I want to visit. Once you know the different times you can do a run of 3 or 4 in sequence and you can decide what you're getting, leaving the sweaty casserole vegetables and stale bread for those who get the bags.

    So far I have had 4 surprise bags from 2 different Spar stores...I got the last 2 on the 29th Feb and out of the 2 bags were 6 items with a USE BY date of the 28th the items were 2 lots of different Ham, Fruit Bread ( rock hard) and chicken. I obviously chucked the out of date stuff and did report it to Goodtogo but not heard back from them yet...I won't use good to go anymore not worth the messing, better things to do with my time than running out to save money to have to chuck most of it in the bin. I suppose its ok for those that find it useful but from my experience you have to have your wits about you and a very strong stomach 🙃

    At 1 min - Fight fight. You should ask what fool put rubbish mouldy, bad looking. It may be that this is NOT today left overs, but yesterdays. so left over night in the back. so not looked at today maybe why rotten food in bag / box. You still got more than I did when I got one bag once. Now what the price was may be high, But you have to ask what of these item would and do you buy any way and what you wanted

  • @mumthings

    @mumthings

    5 ай бұрын

    I think the staff are so rushed filling the boxes that they don't really have time to look closely at the items. You can normally see them filling the boxes off the shelves as you're waiting for them at the counter so the rotten stuff is still on the shelves... To be honest, most of the stuff in the Morrisons ones we would buy because we buy a lot of fresh fruit and veg. But I like some of the other shops like Herron Foods where we get things we would never normally think to buy so we get to try out new things xx

    It still looks alot of money ,try not to show each other up on line , I know half is banter ,have fun with it 👍 all items should be fit to sell ,I work at Morrisons, taking codes off, they use some stock on last days in canteen for staff , they didn't do deal bags then , but should still be fresh and cheaper that's may thought , you need to tell them as your throwing half away , looking forward to see what you cook , 👍👊
