If you go through the Kohga quest line in this game, Link did show him at the very start. That's why in this scene he says "it was the right hand, right?" as he tries to activate it. He saw Link do it and just can't figure out why he can't do it.

It also makes perfect sense that the Yiga clan completely took over the depths because Kohga was dropped into a massive pit in Breathing of the Wild. He probably has been exploring the depths since his defeat.

Remember, all yiga have black hair and link is blonde, so either all of the other yiga have terrible eyesight or kohga is the only one who is like "wait a minute-"

There’s another Kogha one before your last battle with him where he recognizes link immediately. I only wore the yiga outfit for that one so I was pretty surprised he was able to figure me out

He also reacts to you if you wear Yiga armor when you go to get the auto build ability. He says “I know it’s you even through that mama!”

Makes me wonder why Master Kohga never became a mod for smash Ultimate

Interestingly enough, the Yiga sometimes react if Link is wearing the lightning helm, or has already completed the Blade Master Test.

ive noticed all yiga clan members dont actually have names and are just descriptions of what their disguise is lmao so if i forget its a yiga clan trap (since names don't appear over their head unless you've already talked to them at least once) and see "traveler" i just dont talk to them unless i want a fight lol
