@@kitsunekaze93 Yes I know, however people did not "last met Link 7 years ago" as the OP stated. These people have known Link first hand during these years between BOTW and TOTK. I asked this person to clarify to be sure, but I was already under the assumption that they wrongfully thought that between the first scene of TOTK (Ganondorf reviving) and Link waking up in the Great Sky Islands 7 years had passed (something that I have seen a disturbing amount of people believe for some reason). However this is 100% false since many NPCs in the game state that Zelda has only been missing for a few days. If OP was under that misunderstanding it would've explained their comment.

@@Teknanam You must've misunderstood my comment. This is not a theory, it's simply wrong. Only a few days have passed between the intro scene and the tutorial (or maybe even less, maybe the "few days" the NPCs keep referring to simply represent the time Link spent in the sky islands + the time you spend overall during the game.) I have seen a lot of people think that the timejump of a few years is located here, when in fact it is very obviously located between the end cutscene of BOTW and the very beginning of TOTK.

I like how Karson, Josha, and Purah immediately recognizes it's Link just by looking at his posture when he talks to them.

And since the Yiga spend more time Underground and doing Stealthy things, their hair turned black through natural selection, as black hair would be way better at helping them blend in at night than white hair.

Best part? You can come up close and personal with Yiga members and their awful posture

​@@bradhedgehog12If you read the journals in the outposts in the depths several of them mention the Yiga Clan fighting monsters, whether in self defense or aggression. The monsters do not view them as allies. Whether this is because the monsters are incapable of doing so or simply because Ganondorf views the Yiga Clan as beneath his notice is up in the air but I highly doubt he is ignorant to their existence.

more specifically, you can look up the kakariko village heirloom quest and get the full context. but basically he used to be in the yiga, and once he left the yiga killed his wife and threatened the safety of his kids unless he uses his position in kakariko to spy on them his child can also be found grieving in the nearby graveyard, implying it happened pretty recently

If you go to the Kakariko Village Well in TOTK you can actually find a diary and a vegetable plot hidden underground written by Dorian's wife talking about how much she loves Dorian, Koko and Cottla and the food she likes to make for them, which is really sad :(

One of Dorian’s daughters has a unique reaction if you’re wearing the outfit inside Dorian’s house when she enters the house. She was like “oh, dad’s back home early.”

It's particularly funny to me that Purah is largely unfazed. It makes sense, she's probably one of the ones most exposed to Link and his fashion shenanigans, given her role in BotW.

Not when I'm using it to gather intel on the Yiga.

I was a bit disapointed that only the gerudo think you are an actual yiga , when you talk to the gerudo guards at lookout landing and karakara bazar they all threaten to kill you if you dont leave , and the gerudo merchants refuse to sell you stuff . The other races dont care and even amongst the sheikah only some of them react to it and they dont believe you are a yiga they just say stuff like "we know you aren't one of them , you shouldn't wear that its not a joke" I was expecting to be hated by everyone in kakariko village . I want everyone to acknowledge me as a Yiga , I worked hard to join them and I want to be recognized .

don’t know if anyone has brought this up but there’s also 3 gerudo at outskirt village who react to link’s yiga outfit by all turning away from him at once and they have a few funny lines, the highlight for me is when they say “you’re so much shorter than the others… I… I guess I’ll just pretend I didn’t see you”

The animation for any NPC spinning away from Link looks super hilarious to me, I couldn't stop laughing when all three of them turn towards you then immediately give you the cold shoulder lmao

There's special dialogue if Link walks around naked too, everyone pretty much tells him to put some clothes on lol it's hilarious

@RJD I can't blame you. I have mixed feelings about them because they killed people, but in Age of Calamity you see them become good. To be fair, I understand why they left the Shiekah years ago, what the King 10000 years told them to do was horrible, forcing them to be farmers when they could help.

Tbf, Kouga from AoC is not the one from BotW. It's a leader title. It's why their VAs are different too. So in 100 years the Yiga became more blood thirsty. There is a lot going on with the Yiga - and even if King said "hey no tech" switching sides to Ganon is a bit suspect. Either they were already traitors and the divine beast were hidden because they knew Ganon might be able to control it later by doing same thing twice (which happens), or the story in game. I'm more prone to believe they were already traitors. We also know the monks saw the future - to point they knew a Gerudo would block a shrine because of thirst. They knew Link would fall. Meaning Yiga did too. Unless they were already a split faction. The king allowed the shrines to be built after the Calamity passed. But making up a story about how it was the King's fault they split...it allows the shrines to stay hidden until needed. There is a lot of either plot holes. Or intentional deception going on.

@@Stormrunner1981 The Yiga joined with Ganon because "enemy of my enemy is my friend". Though its less that they joined and more that they are just a faction friendly to Ganon's forces. Ganon himself doesn't recognize them far as I can tell which is why Kohga keeps trying to find ways for the Yiga to be recognized by him. Also it wasn't simply the no tech rule. The Sheikah were ostracized and exiled from Hyrule society over the Sheikah tech.

If anything, I can't find anything about his VA for Age of Calamity anyway; just his English and Spanish voices. But you are right about "Kohga" being a title, rather than a name.

Well, I think most of the normal people don't really understand what the Yiga are. They are enemies of the Royal family after all, so it's to be expected that their actions were mostly kept under wraps. Now because of what has happened they have gone more public, that's why there are people trying to join them because of how "cool" they are or their powers are, or simply because they blame the royal family for what happened.

I like the Yiga Outfit letting you talk to the clan like usual people. Aside from their want for Link’s Death and Kohga’s Pride, they’re pretty average people.

I recently discovered that there is a "Pyra" in Gerudo Village Mythra is gonna cook for her, if you know what that means

I remember doing this by accident trying to get him in the Gerudo area. I wore the yiga outfit to bypass some of the guards and ended up running into Kogah before changing. I think the hand and batteries on my side gave it away. Maybe Kogah is smarter than he looks, unlike his underlings.

Is because ever since the Age of Calamity 100 years prior he sorta trained himself to know every. Last. Detail. Of Link's physique, posture, and characteristics because he has an unhealthy grudge, even if he serves for the favor of Ganon

the Shikah and ESPECIALLY the Gerudo HATES the yiga clan. The latter was a callback of what hapened in BOTW.

I HIGHLY recommend completing "The Stolen Heirloom" sidequest in BotW first, but if you REALLY want to know, spoilers below: . Dorian was an ex-Yiga who tried to defect from the clan after falling in love and marrying. The Yiga, in retaliation, later murdered his wife and extorted him into acting as an informant by threatening his children. He later told them of Link's return and meeting with Impa, which caused them to send out members disguised as travelers, and after a failed attempt to cut ties with them for good, told them of a Sheikah heirloom in Impa's possession. Seeing no further use for Dorian and already having considered him a traitor, a Blademaster that stole the heirloom prepared to kill Dorian on a later night. However, Link had followed Dorian that night, and the Blademaster chose to attack the hero first. After Link defeated the Blademaster, Dorian told his past to Link and asked that he keep the truth behind that night's events a secret because he "didn't want [his] children to suffer anymore", and though it "[didn't] make up for what [he had] done", pledged to protect Kakariko and his children "no matter the cost". Because of his defection from the clan, Dorian and his family will probably be targeted by Yiga assassins for the rest of their lives.

She doesn’t really react to it, and simply mentions that anyone wanting to rescue her must be the hero. Other special scripted Yiga ambushes make sure to note the fact that they can recognize you by your blonde hair and/or noble intentions.
