Yiddish Listening Practice - Sholem Aleichem

Learn Yiddish with simple audio for students and everyone who wants to hear a little Yiddish.
An episode all about history's most beloved Yiddish writer: Sholem Aleichem! Hear from teacher Katerina Kuznetsova all about Sholem Aleichem's influence on Yiddish literature and why he has so much to teach us still. And I talk a little about how students can approach reading Sholem Aleichem in Yiddish.

Zeyer interesant! What are the titles of the editions you recommended in this episode that are abridged/simplified especially for learners? I think you mention one from Melbourne, and another one that was available with sound recordings. I'm having difficulty finding them. A groysen un a sheynem dank!

This was difficult for me because Katerina often swallows syllables.

Definitely takes practice to accustom your ear to different speakers. I hope the transcript helped. Did you try listening at x.75 speed?
