    These rappers like YG are not good at public speaking nor- have they taken a speech class in college, so why would you expect much from a person who's not educated enough to speak properly on a public speaking podium. Something he don't usually do. cause you can tell he's not been taught how to correctly do public speaking before. Yg was clearly nervous up there.

She even lies and tells people she's mixed and has an Asian dad. I tried to help her for long but it was exhausting and irritating. One day she was going on and on about her future blasian babies. I was like yeeeaaah our kids can't play together because I'm raising my babies to love their Blackness and to be proud of it. You're going to spew your self hatred onto your kids and they will not try to feed that mess to mine.

    Everything you said is true and fact although I'm not technically mixed race I am mixed passing and I experience a hell of a lot more privilege in the black community than my beautiful dark skin sisters and its not right at all, I was raised to low-key believe I'm prettier and better than dark skin women and that their all "jealous" I remember my grandma wrapping my hair up when my dark skin friends would come over saying "we don't want them to see your pretty hair" it was absolutely disgusting and if anything I now make sure to uplift my sisters and defend them every chance I get. I steer clear of colorist black men and avoid all men who use the words "light skin, yellow/red bone" or "good hair" as a compliment. Light skin doesnt mean pretty and dark skin doesn't mean ugly. But they are still black women right? Be happy that it's not a white woman. Everyone wants the approval of men. There's plenty men that don't think this way..... there is nothing wrong with a black man loving a light skin "black"woman... and I'm a brown woman saying this. It's annoying to say the least. You all act like light skin women are the enemy. When they are BLACK. Whoosh Jim Crow still lives.. so sad... we need to sit back and thank God that it's a black woman they putting on a pedestal regardless of skin complexion

  • @MimiKeel

    @MimiKeel

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@kalishagibbs3797, we should 'Thank God' it's black women? No. Curly Bella's statement is true, not only for black men in LA, but all across this country. You're correct, lighter or mixed women are not the enemy; colorism is. As you know, this all began during slavery. Lighter skinned slaves were given such preferential treatment that it caused a divide. Later, some mothers would scrub their dark-skinned children raw with chemicals in order to lighten their skin, in hopes they'd be treated more kindly. You're right, there's nothing wrong with a black man loving a light-skinned girl. But it becomes wrong when he's only dating her 'because' she's light-skinned. It becomes wrong when he puts her on a pedestal while belittling women as dark as his own mother. It becomes wrong when he hates the very thought of ever having a child as dark as himself. I've cut many dinner dates short after hearing the words, "I don't date dark women." I'm light-skinned woman, by the way. I even had a guy say to me, "You fine, but you wouldn't be as fine if you were dark-skinned." WTF? Really? That kind of self-loathing is not only a turn-off, it may also require some extensive cognitive therapy and/or re-programming. And by 're-programming', I mean that Hollywood and the media has done some major damage to the black psyche.

    Izzie Storm's World I can see your angle but it’s misinformed. She isn’t attacking LS women. She’s referring to how “lightskin” is being used synonymously with beauty when they aren’t. A LS women can be attractive, but she can also be unattractive. Her “light” tone shouldn’t make her “more” attractive if she isn’t. But sadly men will pick a women/praise women BECAUSE these women do not look like them. If you didn’t understand that from this video, then you have a lot of maturing to do - that’s coming from a 16 year old.

    You're onto something with the incest & low key fetishizing family members based on preference for light skin. I'm dark skinned with a lot of cousins. Growing up, I always noticed my lighter skinned female cousins were treated "nicer" by my male cousins. They would hug on them in weird and strangely intimate ways. They would hang around them and follow them wherever they went. I always thought it felt off as a child. Those same male cousins are all currently married to ambiguous or non black women. You're right these things happen in families and no one want to talk about it. I also have biracial family members who stay in Cali and everytime they came down to visit they would act funny with the family members with darker skin complexions as if we didn't exist. I even tried saying hi to them the first day they came into town because I never met them before and they purposely ignored me and my existence the entire time they were in town. They only socialized with my lighter skinned family members. I was so confused because I was a child and they were fully grown adults being prejudice to their own child family member because I was dark skinned. So it really hurt my feelings. I was young but I still understood that colorism played a big factor.

    Reminds me of the light skin squad back in Sunday school, who would always think they were better because their skin was light smh. Some of them looked all kinds of ugly.

    My hubby is white and I’m black but I would never say we gotta protect our “mixed babies” like wtf ? Were going to raise our beautiful babies and that’s it (not including their skin tone) and people are always caught in the fact of having a baby. My man and I focus on our love first they need to let that colorist statement go. & the other day I seen the most beautiful dark skin child and I made sure I told her how she beautiful she was and how cute her hair was😍😩. The smile on that little girls face made me so happy and I really do hope she remembers that later on in life.

    It's upsetting that many light skin girls don't see the problem with being fetishes. I'm light and have had plenty of gross unwanted attention from older black guys/men, the worst was this boy touched my hair in the grocery line and said we'd make pretty babies....I was 13😷. I would never want to be with someone who only wanted me because of skin tone. The only take away is we know what bullets we're dogging with these statements
