YETI Pictures @ IBC 2019 | Maxon Cinema 4D

Фильм және анимация

"YETI’s footprint with C4D" by Tony Zagoraios + Thanos Kagkalos, YETI Pictures at the IBC 2019 Maxon booth.
YETI’s motion punks Tony and Thanos, break-down commercial and personal projects in their two-year journey with Cinema 4D. They will discuss the mentality of a small studio with big clients and how Cinema 4D was vital in delivering “big” within short deadlines.
About YETI:
Tony and Thanos are the brains behind YETI Pictures. They love doing experimental stuff in Cinema 4D and applying new techniques in both personal and commercial projects. In their spare time, Tony fails at his guitar lessons while Thanos fails at learning Houdini.

    Wow! I have followed your work for some time now and I was really happy to see some of your techniques :) I have a question about the KitKat video, if you don't mind of course. The wrapping around the chocolate in the end and then the sealing of the package, how was this made? I think it is the same sealing technique that you used in the Pitatakia video. Really beautiful. Thank you for the inspiring videos :) Would love to see some tutorials from you guys or I would gladly pay for some scene files. Love from Sweden.

  • @MotionPunk

    @MotionPunk

    4 жыл бұрын

    hey Anton thanks for the kind words. The wrapping is done via various deformers. In Pitatakia is more straight forward all u need is 1 open package/1 closed and u morph between em via a morph deformer with a linear field. Add jiggle after the fact and ur done :)

    Hi and thanks for watching our presentation. Tony forgot to say " in such an artistic way". And that ofc is a subjective opinion. Food for thought here: IMO a lot of people claiming "houdini artists" and their portfolio has stuff that someone can do in xparticles/tfd/c4d. Even if not with the same accuracy, at least very similar and equally beautiful. Its not a stereotype. U have to be very coding/math thinker to do stuff in houdini that makes u stand out. No need to use it, if u dont deliver like Simon hehe :) ps. Same i say to people using python/xpresso in c4d: its not needed in 90% of cases when u do motion design.

  • @MotionPunk

    @MotionPunk

    4 жыл бұрын

    While this is not the kind of conversation i usually engage, i ll try to answer to u as honest as i can: I wasnt always a c4d user. I started with 3dmax and long story short, i use a lot of software. Blender is one that i never used cause when other 3d softwares were on their peak, blender wasnt on the map. I ve heard that its a software with great potential, but i have no opinion on the subject. Personally, I judge a software from the amount/quality of work that i see in production and Blender IMO is not in that list of softwares. I just checked the latest reel and i find it weaker than others. I m not sure what its strengths even are. Is it good at char animation? Particles? Its not clear yet to me. Besides personal estimations and opinions though, one fact is the main reason i wouldnt consider Blender: its free. Which means when i will need some kind of paid support and priority (cause we run a studio with clients and needs that are urgent etc etc) i wont have it. I cant rely on community to solve technical problems. So yea, as long as a software is free, is not my priority :) As weird as this might sound. Cheers!
