That’s literally why non-human characters exist half the time…. The other half of the time, they exist to explain things to themselves, to help the audience understand their “other”ness. How do we know that elves are “immortal”? Because they’re losing their $#*! about Arwen deciding to give up her immortality!

@@FantasticExplorers humorously, Aragorn is actually 87 years old. Legolas might be thousands of years old, but we know pretty much nothing about his life before LoTR, so he could be like 100, making him barely an adult, and quite a bit younger than Gimli.

Oh, how he envied the hobbits smoking and eating salted pork when he found them in Isengard, that was gold too. Not to mention, adding the "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard" scene would sit well with Merry and Pippin waiting for Treebeard, saying "Yes?" Because this time they are willingly taken to Isengard xD

This legolas. The one from the Hobbit movies, is trash. Abd they “obscured him” (he was this ethereal character! Like a floating ethereal way of being!), and made him bloodthirsty and violent (and impulsive). Nothing made sense😊

​@@laimaravillon895 the hobbit legolas was younger and probably more impulsive and rash as he probably tried to be like his father to gain his approval it makes sense to me that he would change in the time between the hobbit and lord of the rings. Personally I understood legolas in the hobbit all he knew was life in mirkwood with his people and he most likely never interacted with any other species making him apathetic to the troubles of others until after the hobbit

Legolas is my favorite. He's just so handsome and charming i just want to hug him and love the immortal life out of him.

There’s a theory that froto doesn’t know Legolas’ name. He speaks to him once the whole trilogy, and in the very end when froto is on the bed and the happy music is playing, he mouths Aragorn and gimley’s names, but just smiles at legolas

Fantasy usually has these character types rotated a bit. The straightforward guy should be the dwarf. Aragorn is a Dunedain, so he is excused for using meandering word salad. That should be the Elven role though.
