Yes - I've Seen All Good People (Live At The Apollo)
Available Now: mercury-studios.lnk.to/YesApollo
In 2016, Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman brought together their incredible talents and long experience of working in Yes to take to the road for a series of concerts celebrating Yes’ musical legacy of the seventies, eighties and nineties. Yes featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman toured first in North America and then brought their live show to the UK in early 2017, including this performance captured at the Manchester Apollo. The band are in superb form in front of a sell-out crowd who are clearly loving every minute of the show which includes classic tracks such as Roundabout, Owner Of A Lonely Heart, And You And I, Hold On, Heart Of The Sunrise, Rhythm Of Love, I’ve Seen All Good People and many more.

He can't, I think it's been really heavily mastered post production. The whole concert is well out of line with reality, I think there has been lots of over dubbing or something.

  • @MusicVersa

There's no evidence of that. The lead vocal line is very clearly taken straight from the board and is not overdubbed or autotuned.

You're living in a dream world, Yes have never sounded like this on any of their live albums. The quality is better than yessongs, which is completely unrealistic. There is even overdubbed crowd noise. If you think JA can sing like this today, or even in his mid 20s, for a full concert without any bum notes or flat tones or anything bad at all then we will have to disagree. Not that I didn't enjoy it, it's just not them live IMO.

I like the way Trevor approaches playing iconic tunes in his own way. Rick Wakeman is as cool as ever and when you're that cool, you can wear a cape if you want to! The most striking thing is Jon's voice, better than he used to be... Incredible!

Man, don't you think Steve Howe is desperately missing in this song? I adore Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman, and also, I adore Bill Bruford, the guy who originally recorded this one. I've never been a fan a Alan White, but now I see how harshly I've judged him. The guitarist is a ghost in this song. It's almost like there's nothing but a robot or a pre-recording there. This isn't one of _those_ songs, you know, like Heart Of The Sunrise or Close To The Edge... This is just Your Move, and yet how bad this sounds without Howe is maddening. I'm not just saying this: I would be ashamed to go on stage and perform like that. I would rather never be famous if my only other choice was to murder Steve Fucking Howe himself.

Kauan R. M. Klein thanks for your comment. I agree wholeheartedly that Steve Howe’s guitar work is desperately missing and I’m not a fan of Rabin’s style. I’m happy to see Jon singing again even if it’s in a fractured version of the band. I’ve been a Yes fan since the early 1970’s and have seen them more times than I can count. I’ve met Howe, Squire, White, Sherwood, Downes, Davidson, and even Oliver Wakeman when he filled in for his dad. All were very nice and each talented. My favorite band members were in place when Fragile was released many moons ago. Ah, the glory days! Take care my friend.

What auto tune? Bands use backing tracks live... who cares. No one complains whenever bohemian rhapsody is played live and the vocal section is pre recorded... just be appreciative they’re still around making people happy. To all the negative comments, where is your live blu ray concert?

Well, to be fair, Bohemian Rhapsody is actually impossible to do live without backing tracks. All Good People is completely doable with everyone (except Rick) singing harmony. OT: I want to hear Rick try to sing just once. How bad can he be? Bob Dylan bad?
