​​@@bernardbernard2760 The skin "colors", "identifying features" dont really mean anything, back then those guys making up that research were ignorant and dumb and didnt know anything or understand what made people looked and behaved differently so they created their own narrative. People look different because of their respective environments and genetics that were necessary to adapt. Thats it, and you should know by now the idea of race was just a unreliable, rude, and limiting way to categorize people....especially when you realize that multi racial people exist in the world...I'm an average looking person and yet most people have never correctly guessed my "race/s" 😂.

Steph, if someone grows up in Ireland they will call themselves Nigerian Irish. That's because they see themselves as Irish, but what kind of Irish? Nigerian kind of Irish. If someone grew up in Nigeria but their parents were Irish, then they would call themselves Irish Nigerian. The second should be the country you grew up in, the first is your ethnic background.

Come on home for tea sometime so ! You can swing by Portugal/Spain too as Ryanair does very cheap flights. The Irish passport is not a bad passport to have either will get you into Europe and uk for indefinite stays without paperwork and visas.

(Mixed Race) mean, 2 different race made a baby, which mean the 'black' race and another race made a baby in this case, what it mean is that the 'black' race is a race of it's own and not a mixture.

More real talk

They're saying you can't be Irish because of the color of your skin. Period. It's racism/classism/colorism, etc. pick one, any will do. As children I can understand being a little bit more understanding, but there's no excuse for ignorance among adults, because at that point it's a choice and blaming mommy and daddy is a cop-out. How often have white people been argued with and told, "you can't be Irish"? I would love and honest answer to this question.

As Leah said herself she is Nigerian-Irish or African-Irish or simply Irish. However children born in Ireland to Nigerian parents are not Nigerian-Irish, African-Irish or Irish in any way they are simply Nigerian and no piece of paper will change that. If a dog is born in a stable it doesn't make it a horse. But as I said mixed race people like Leah who are both culturally and ethnically Irish are as Irish as they come. The comical thing is Irish features are so dominant mixed race Irish people often genuinely look Irish. Leah certainly does, Paul McGrath, Chris Hughton, Simon Zebo and Lee Chin all do as well just to name a few.

Duke Temz......yes White cannot be African or Black , they are White European no matter were they settle , same as Black in Europe , they are European Citizens, as the little bit of paper says , but cannot ever be European. Their is no such thing as a little bit Black , a Little bit white, or a little bit Mixed race , you have no choice.

what race is she , she not Irish because they are of the White European race, she is not Chinese , they are yellow, she is not African because , well she not really Black , how mixed up can a person be. This is exactly why I would never accept having children outside my own ethnic group. To many complications , and the fact the Black genes always are more prominent , nearly 95% in most case , so well, they would never look like me or my ancestors.

Ireland is a nationality. Which means "the status of belonging to a particular nation." I quoted it word for word from the dictionary for you. Meaning if she lives in Ireland her nationality is Irish. She would be Nigerian/Irish.

I think she's talking about her parentage, i.e. one of her parents is Irish, and the other is Nigerian. That would make her some percentage of Irish. Barack is 50% Kenyan and 50% American. I don't know what he has to do with this.

Sad this woman is of mixed race, as it means she is confused as to what race she is , of course she is not Irish , that is a total nonsense. The fact she has to speak about what she thinks she is, proves how confused she is. Irish people are White, this woman is African , or mixed race , but she is not or never will be Irish . Irish people are not a mixture of Black, or any other race , no more than Africans are a mixture of Chinese, White , or any other race. She can be a Irish Citizen with a little bit of paper, but not of the Irish race. Why would she call herself Irish , why not call herself African , Zimbabwean, Congolese, Somalian. Even Africans would not view her as African , but of mixed race. If she walked down the street in any country in the world , everyone would see her as African or mixed race , not in a million years would someone say , "oh look their is a Irish woman, or White woman". . It sad that so many race mixed people are confused of who and what they really are, that is mixed race.

She is not confused at all as to who she is. I believe you are confusing the terms “race” and “nationality”. Nationality refers to the nation in which a person is born (i.e. the country of Ireland) and race refers to the hereditary descent. She is of mixed races ancestrally (African (from whichever African country), Irish, and possibly other places she does not know about), but she was born in Ireland, therefore making her an Irish citizen. Therefore she is 100% correct when referring to herself as an Irish woman as that is the country and culture she grew up in (just as anyone of any racial background born in say the U.S. would refer to themselves as American). Additionally, mixed-race people can refer to themselves as whatever race they would like to, whether it’s a single race or a combination of the races they are made up of. It is not up to those who are (as far as they know) only made up of one race to choose what mixed-race people must refer to themselves as.

@@poeticperez14 .......your 100% correct , she is not ethnic Irish, as Irish are neither mixed race , brown , or Black. Same as ethnic Chinese race are not White Brown or Black. Irish people are of the White European race. She is as you pointed out, maybe confused , and can claim to be any race she wishes, but only on paper, never in the true sense of the meaning. If she migrated to China tomorrow, and was given citizenship, she could hold both Chinese and Irish citizenship,no problem whatsoever, but she still racially neither Irish or Chinese, still mixed race, aka, biracial .

Race is a social construct there is not such a thing as race but one human kind. Culture is a group of people sharing same beliefs, symbols ect... you can not retrace the whole human kind history from origin of human. At the end of the day . You have to stop this non sense. If anyone were to deny the fact , that Africans were not a pure race, Africans, Eskimos, Chinese , Tibetans, or any other race , liberals would call them racist.
