I have it on good authority that anyone who ranks Magnification in their top five Yes albums will be counted among the great sages and sup with the gods for a thousand days. So you're in good shape there. In my top five I also have The Ladder, Tormato, Tales from Topographic Oceans and Close to the Edge. What's that? Oh alright, Going for the One--you can be in the top five too. We'll just hope no one counts.

The beauty about the first two YES albums was Bill Buford's jazz drumming holding it down... Squire, Banks kicked it, too. Their prog from The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales, Relayer, and yes, the rockin' Tormato... gives a listen. Pizza on Erf.

Fragile and Close To The Edge are my favorites...There is an album by a psychedelic band called, Tomorrow, featuring Steve Howe that is classic 60s psychedelia. The song from that album that stands out the most is, White Bicycle.

Truth be told I have only ever heard one song from 90215, yes, that song. Maybe I'll sit down and listen to the entire album one day. I just might like it as much as you do.

I'm not as familiar with the post-90125 albums so it would be unfair to rank them. My Top 10 would be: 1. Close to the Edge 2. Going for the One 3. Fragile 4. The Yes Album 5. Relayer 6. Drama 7. 90125 8. Time and a Word 9. Debut 10. Tales (have to be in the mood) And, yes, I have to give the later albums a chance.

I guess I need to give "Relayer" and "Tales From Topographic Oceans" another shot. I remember borrowing them from my public library in the late '80's. And they just went over my head. I was so bored by them. 😁😆 I like the two '80's Jon Anderson Yes albums a lot more. "90125" was my introduction to Yes, so I think of it very highly. I didn't really like anything after "Big Generator", I was into many other artists. And Yes weren't being played on the radio or on music videos anymore, so I just forgot about them. Plus, as you said "Big Generator" was a disappointment, after "90125". I like half of it, though. I also have two Yes compilation albums. Based on the small portion of the Yes studio discography I have, this is my Top 6 Yes albums: (1) The Yes Album (2) Close To The Edge (3) Fragile (4) 90125 (5) Going For The One (6) Big Generator I recently got the standalone releases of the "Union 30 Live" 2 CD/ DVD sets from "Shoreline" and "Denver". "Shoreline" has 16 songs on 2 CD's, but "And You And I" is cut by half. And the "Drums Duet"/ "Changes" segment comes from another show. 12 of the songs are on the DVD. You'll be happy that the two "Union" songs are cut from the DVD. 😁 Plus the two previously mentioned tracks. The DVD has pretty good sound and very good picture quality (for a 1991 concert shot on video in SD). "Denver" has the full 18 song show, on CD and DVD. But, the video is in "good" bootleg quality, and the audio suffers from strange mixing choices. Sometimes you only hear one guitar or one voice. But, it is pro-recorded, and you get two songs not on the "Shoreline" set, "Hold On" and "Long Distance Runaround". And you get a full performance of "And You And I". I still enjoyed it, despite its drawbacks.

you covered the butt on going for one but not the boobs on time and a word.. shame on you larry😔 (i’m only joking haha) good list, i’ve always loved yes but lately they’ve been more hit or miss for me, some albums i love and some are just not for me, but it’s nice to see you give love to topographic oceans, an album i don’t particularly enjoy but i really appreciate. my favorites are Close to the Edge, Fragile, Relayer, Talk, and the Ladder

I have Tormato on vinyl and after reading all the reviews saying it was their worst '70s album I almost sold it. But I couldn't- it had Rick Wakeman on it. Maybe I am more a Rick Wakeman fan as I did not really like Relayer ( with Patrick Moraz) that much. His solo album was not my cup of tea either. I has seen Wakeman live back in 1975's " Journey To The Center of the Earth " tour, but never ever seen Yes live.

This video is pure fun to watch! It stimulated me to dive into my own Yes album collection and renewed my joy I always get from this band.- My suggestions for the throne change from time to time: The Yes Album, Fragile, Going For The One?!- Let me share some thoughts on the latest albums since 2011 (Fly From Here, Heaven & Earth, The Quest, Mirror To The Sky). I enjoy all those four albums very much. The musicianship, melodies, lyrics and the whole feel to it is pure Yes. I can‘t help myself but seeing Steve Howe as the Keeper Of The Flame und Jon Davison as a highly gifted singer with a voice of angel. Not to forget the other members of Yes nowadays. All highly respected gentlemen with great skills on their instruments! This is a match and it works for me. Maybe you give those albums from 2011 on a try. There is some beauty to find there🏜️🪐

"Drama" might be a "great" album, but it's not a YES album. No Anderson, no YES.
