Following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at Bramall Lane, Gary Johnson's Yeovil underdogs came back to win 2-0 in the second leg against Sheffield United with goals from Kevin Dawson and a late winner from Ed Upson. The Glovers would go on to beat Brentford 2-1 in the final at Wembley to earn promotion to the Championship for the first time in their history.
