I lived in Aden in the early 60's I was 6/7/8 years old and I felt like Alice in Wonderland and have never ever found that happiness again - they were my best years - I loved it there.

There was a Spanish lady who traveled from Spain to India on her motorcycle. She was perfectly fine when she went through the middle east but got raped when she got to India. Your comment is part of the problem. These places are beautiful and very welcoming (and being hospitable is part of the culture and religion.) There are foundational systematic issues created by other nations to purposely keep these beautiful regions out of global competition.

It’s South Yemen

I'm convinced that war is just an excuse to demolish all of the beautiful ancient buildings.

I remember Aden before 1994. I was living in Sheikh Othman, when we heard the sound of northern aircraft bombing the city. We took the plane to Somalia and then went to Australia. We live in it. I hope to return to the capital, Aden.

والله شئ غريب. كانت بريطانيا قد عرضت ان يبقى مستشفى الملكه اليزابيث على نفس الاسم وهي ستقوم بتوفير كل احتياجاته وصيانته ولكن للاسف الحكومه التي تسلمت الحكم من بريطانيا رفضت واسمته مستشفى الجمهوريه وصار فيه اهمال و تقصير لعدم توفير كل احتياجات المستشفى لولا ان دول الخليج قد ساهمت في كثير من الفعاليات الخدميه لكل مرافق الدوله الجنوبيه منها الصحيه الى الافضل. والان نرى في مختلف الوسائط كيف يتباهى مختلف قطاعات افراد المجتمع الجنوبي بكل ماشيدته بريطانيا ولا يتباهوا بما هم شيدوه على مدى عقود. مش كان افضل لو كان قبلوا ان يبقى مستشفى الملكه اليزابيث كي نفتخر بهذا الصرح العظيم في يومنا هذا مثلما نفتخر بكل ماشيدته بريطانيا لإسعاد مختلف قطاعات الشعب الجنوبي.

Give women proper rights and opportunities as men, and create a tax on qat to invest into these programs. When ego and culture supersede logic, you get Yemen.
