This is a highlight reel I edited for my good friend and fellow cinematographer, Aaron Baggenstos from his most recent trip to Yellowstone in early January 2023. All of this footage was filmed on the RED V-Raptor using the Canon 50-1000mm Cine Lens with the Kippertie Strata PL ND mount. No other filtration was used. I edited, colored, designed and mixed this in Davinci Resolve 18 Studio.
We had the idea of doing a black and white film because of how foggy and moody the weather was when he was filming and I really think it turned out awesome! Personally, I love black and white as it make you focus on the subject in the frame and the details in the image vs getting lost with everything else in the frame. Half way through the film as the score comes back in we wanted it to be a reveal showing the beautiful winter colors that nature had to offer while Aaron was there.
