So awesome to have our annual 2 day trip back together again!
Plunked away at a bluefin tuna school for almost 4 hours, consistently hooked up to 1 - 3 fish at a time.
After it started slowing down, and Captain Max got word of biting yellowfin tuna, we wound them up and made a move to get in on the action.
It wasn't too long after that, we found ourselves pulling on very quality size yellowfin tuna.
Luckily, at the size these fish were, they were not line shy.
Most of our fly line yellowfin this day were on 40 and 50 lb fishing line.
This is only Part 3 of this 2 day trip!
Make sure to check out parts 1 and 2, and keep an eye out for part 4!
Can't wait to share more of this experience with the rest of you!

Max and the highliner crew get it done. Great to see newer captains out there killing it.

Love fishing with the Highliner Crew, and seeing Max as the captain now is so amazing! So glad I’ve been able to watch him start from a young pinhead to where he’s at now!

How far can you cast say Tady 45s or Shimano stick baits with you trini axis rod setup?

With my stiffer 9’ rod in this video, maybe about 50 - 70+ yards. With my 10ft Axis with alittle more tip to load up better, about 70 - 100+ yards

@@socalfishincrew5410 you can cast a lead jig pretty far with even a stiff heavy set up. It’s surface irons and stickbaits, the more lighter lures that are alittle more difficult to cast on a stiffer rod. These peanuts, I was casting about 50ish yards on average, but was mainly sinking it out and fishing vertically or casting half effort and sinking out to fish at a 45°
