Funny side of reading these stories are from half wit morons that have never actually lived with the Twelve Tribes and have only relied on stories they have been told. Or it’s a couple or two who have left the community poisoned with the idea that they can do better. Yet a vast majority of those that do leave, seem to find themselves returning and asking for forgiveness. A switch to the hands is a lot better than the stick to my rear from my grandmother, or the buckle end of my father’s belt to my back or legs depending on which he got as I ran in fear! You all talk about child abuse in the community YET YOU ALL TURN A BLIND EYE TO OUR FOSTER HOMES WORLDWIDE! RAPING AND PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABUSE THAT IS IN OUR CURRENT SYSTEM IS OVERLOOKED AND FORGOTTEN! @@oreocarlton3343 "physical discipline of a child" is child abuse. Putting your hands on a child to cause pain in any way is 1. Illegal and 2. Teaches your child absolutely nothing except for trauma. There are ways to discipline a child that actually teaches their brain how to act better and have better behavior, and then there is physical abuse that does nothing but leave trauma and create people who say "well *I* was abused as a child and it taught me so I can abuse my child too" due to their own trauma from childhood. Thank you for your worthless take that only advocates for a slightly LESS traumatic way to abuse your child, from me, someone who's had children and has a psychology degree with a concentration in children's psych and social work. Abuse is abuse, lesser abuse isn't BETTER then more serious abuse, and I am SO glad that I am fostering children and can give them a home free of physical "punishment" AKA abuse and can be there for them after everything they've been thru with people who have the same stupid opinions as "abusing a child on their hands is better then abusing them another way" Jesus Christ, y'all shouldn't be allowed anywhere near developing brains, I truly pray for any child who was forced to grow up with someone who physically abuses them and thinks "well at least I don't abuse them VERY badly, just a little bit of physical abuse". Not here in hiddenite NC. Why is there a whole ass documents from the fbi stating child abuse and that they are a cult. I speak on the authority of personal experience and personal witness. The rod they use (which is really a small wooden stick) is very thin and hurts less than the palm of the hand. Much less than a paddle or belt which is used by many today and not considered abuse. The discipline they do is not unnecessary and the intention of the parents’ heart when they do it is that of love and wanting their children to do right.
