We often tend to focus on planting food plots that are most viable during the hunting season, things like fall annuals and grains - but what about when deer need them most?! During the spring when fawns are dropping and bucks are re-growing antler is when a whitetail's nutritional needs are greatest, and that standing grain or brassica plot you like to hunt over in the fall won't even be planted yet!

Red clover, radish white clover, Kale, winter rye
Seems like you ignored the food shortages during winter in the north. Winter food isn't "icing on the cake" it's a matter of survival.

The wheat, oats, clover, beans, corn and brassicas are all food during the winter. He already knew that deer hunter with food plots already have them set up for winter, that’s the way I see it anyways. Hope that helps, good day sir.
