Ойын-сауық
It's been a long time since I've uploaded, and I'm excited to have more content ready! I thought i'd come back with a revisit of a vocalist that never fails to give the goosebumps and shut my brain down... Lara Fabian.
Today we'll be breaking down her vocals from her performance of "Caruso" and reminding ourselves to breathe.
If you enjoyed this video please like, sub and hit the bell (if you want to).

she doesn't just SING a song, she genuinely PERFORMS it!
While they both have earth shattering voices, if I'm honest, I much prefer Lara to Celine...it just feels, somehow warmer to me...does that make sense?

@@celiniac and you know you are better than the so-called legend when this legend uses political tricks to block you and prevent you to perform in front of your public and to be promoted in your own market. Celine is great but I prefer Lara in many ways. And It’s sad and unfair René Angeil blocked Lara in the US. Despite this, believe me or not, I wish Celine a complete recovery and I hope she will be able to perform on stage soon again.

Lara is the better storyteller, but unfortunately she has not a lot of great songs (the best are covers). Also she sounds worse in studio recordings than live. Some of Célines songs for the US market are a tad too loud, I prefer her french catalogue. I couldn’t decide who I like more. Luckily I don’t have to.
Italian is such a beautiful language, and that song got incredible lyrics, it's possibly one of Lara's best performances.
Lara is known for singing with the whole range of emotions, she lives her songs. She not only sings the song, she transports you in the story. She's amazing and should be (in my opinion) much more celebrated then she is. She's an immortal.
Simply the greatest storyteller I have ever heard.

I'll argue that.. 😉 Probably because you stated "you ever heard". It does suggests that you are not fully familiar with the voices of the world. Don't get me wrong... I am a fan of Lara's performances... But this song is most powerful sung by the "The King of the High C's". And he is still considered the century's best lyrics performer. Also one with an extraordinary vocal capacity. And although this is an amazing cover, I have heard similar covers from the same quality... Even from 12 year olds... No hard feelings though. I like Lara as from the 90's. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌷 [Edit] ..... Never mind the great Enrico Caruso himself, from which Luciano Pavarotti himself said, that he was even an greater tenor than him (Pavarotti) self... [/edit]

And keep in mind this is before Auto-Tune and amplifying this is how she sounded and she can still sing very well 20 years later.

👉 Many classical singers (most men) have sung this song: Luciano Pavarotti, Mario Adorf, Andrea Bocelli, Paul Potts etc. The song tells of the pain and longings of a man who is about to die while looking into the eyes of a young woman whom he loves very much. Enrico Caruso (*1873 in Naples, † 1921 ibid) was an Italian opera singer. He is considered the most famous lyrical tenor of the early 20th century and one of the most important singers in the world of opera. Caruso was famous for his baritone-like timbre and stage presence. In a performance of La Bohème he sang an aria for the suddenly voiceless bass so convincingly that no one in the audience noticed. Caruso established a new, exemplary style of singing in which the focus was not on beautiful performance but on becoming one with the character being portrayed. Caruso is the name everyone knows and to which every opera singer is compared. Those who have seen him describe the onset of his voice with the warm power of an organ. Caruso still holds the record of 863 appearances on the Metropolitan Opera stage. And it was Caruso who initiated the triumph of the record with his work. Caruso's generosity was legendary. For example, during his most successful years at the Metropolitan Opera, he gave almost all employees Christmas presents. His sense of humor was also famous. Again and again he joked with his stage colleagues, for example sewing up a sleeve of a coat that a colleague in La Bohème had to wear during the performance, or filling water in a discarded hat that someone had to wear in the performance. 3 years before his death he married the American millionaire daughter Dorothy Park Benjamin. With her he had a daughter, Gloria, at the age of 45. He died at the age of 48 from protracted pleurisy and blood poisoning. It's insane, this level of talent goes beyond anything I've ever heard on earth... In short, all of this makes no sense! Such a level shouldn't even have the ability to exist; it's staggering. Never have I witnessed the ability to control so many different talents at the same time while elevating them to deliver such emotion... it's unprecedented... it's legendary.

I do not cry....almost never...yet she's one of those persons who can literally make me cry......every single time.
I love her so much....the way she tells the story in each and every song she sings...... I was in tears when I first listened to her perform "Je Sui Malade."
this reaction / critique joins the two other best reactions of anyone by anyone - No. 1 is YOUR reaction to Lara's " Adagio " and No. 2 being YOUR reaction to " je suis malade ". Lara is one-of-a-kind and for me is the Ultimate Artist -- she UNIQUELY blends technical proficiency and emotional conectivity with perfect tonal pitch and breath control all while having a power and resonance beyond most singers' ability. Simply put Lara Fabian is the Ultimate Artist .
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIRmrdCFldC6Z5s.html is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

Lara Fabia incredible, amazing, the only alternative version to Lucio Dalla. In Italy "the version" is not from Pavarotti, Bocelli o Iglesias, it's Lucio Dalla. He was not only a song writer, but a real poet. This song is not a quality of voice question, but of soul. And also for that... amazing Lara.
Best female singer in the world without a doubt! She sings with so much emotion and passion. There is no-one like her!
Any song from Lara is a masterpiece, like a moment suspended in time
All i can say is that when she was very popular in Quebec in the 90s early 2000s, i was 23 yo, i couldn't connect with her but always knew she was "good". Now, 23 years later, i connect a bit too much, she's so great, i can't even believe it. I'm crying like a baby.

Lara es LA Reina.
Julia is back. Julia reacts to Lara. Turns out, I am a simple man: Today is a good day.
Her mother is Sicilian and she speak Italian too. Lara Fabian is very language agile. For example, when in Quebec, she can speak a Canadian-French without a hint of European accent. However, she is born in Belgium and does speak European French when she is in Europe. So, for Caruso, I am sure her Italian background help a lot.
Lara is on another level 😊
One of my favorite performances, by ANY artist.

Thank you, Julia - excellent reaction video😀Yes, Lara is uncomparable♥
The almost "angry" gesture you make at minute 9:50 of the video, after the word "afogare", is worth an Oscar. Your gesture of admiration and "displeasure" for such a perfect execution is a marvel. As I have told you on other occasions, I love your way of analyzing and reacting to the interpretations you hear, providing not only very interesting information, but also beautiful gestures. After many years of listening to music, I have not found any artist who has been able to tell a story the way Lara does. Many may not like the way she sings, but she is still one of the best performers of all time (BTW, for me, the best).

🇨🇦 We all missed you Julia ! Welcome back ! As you well know, Lara is a trained Lyric Soprano, but what many don't know, is that she often goes back to Belgium to continue training ! The best part of her training has made her, probably THE Master, and that is her breathing or breath control ! Yes that is the definition of a true exceptional talent. They make the hard look easy. You would think anyone could do this when in truth only a very few can. Is Lara the best. TY soooooo much - saw that you took this song on by Lara and could not wait to watch. The dieing Caruso, with a young wife and child...his wife was just 28 he was 45...him telling her how much he loves her...before he died... of a variety of ails but his death was attributed to peronitis.. What an emotional topic for a song. This is of course why this classic by Dalla was really made for Lara. She captures you, wrings you out, to the last note...spellbound you come out of it, maybe clapping, maybe crying, and watch it again. She is The Queen, long may she reign.

Very interesting video especially for me 'cause it's an Italian song analyzed... I must admit that I didn't know that Lara Fabian has italian relatives and lived in Italy for years. Her pronounciation is indistinguishable from an italian morherlanguage. P.S. Hi Julia! So Happy You're back!
Personally i think Lara isnt about the technicalities of singing a song like constriction or distortion. Lara is, or at least seems, far more immersed in the story, the meaning, the passion, the absolute romantisism of the dialogue and the performance is purely an enactment of those.

Welcome back you brightened my evening! Then there is Lara and the GOAT-Greatest of all Tenors, Enrico Caruso. Since he died in 1921, she doesn't have a relationship with him, but as Jon Lovitz put it so well..... ACTING.
