The S2 you remember is probably the sequal OVA series. This is the 'actual' S2, which is made by a different studio and thus the char designs are a bit different.

that coz the anime didn't do a good job at showing how the game is play due to the anime was more focus on the ingame fight than the outside keyboard input by the char. In the novel, Glory is describe as a game that the players is being able to manually control like 90% of their movement, atk and everything, even how much force put into an atk, skill or ult is within the player control. Highly recommend you give the novel a read if you r more curious about glory the game itself with the char as well
