Yard Jockey makes more money 💰 than

This video where I was doing yard jockey and I and I came across pretty interesting discovery that yard jockey might make more than OTR. Especially given the numbers and time off and on work. #truckdriver #18wheeler #yardjockey

I was a yard jockey for 3 years. I miss the yard sometimes. Now I’m back in the day cab. Yard drivers deserve higher pay with the bs you have to deal with.

They definitely deserve more. Some are in unions but for the most part they’re so important to trucking that they need more recognition.

Yup. Load or mile pay is garbage. By the time you add the hours, you might as well work two jobs.

I legit today about 2 hrs ago, just passed my test today out for the Amazon Tom Team. Bro is speaking all facts in this video. I’m nowhere near great at driving hostlers or moving trailers yet, but I’ve been doing hella good at my maneuvering and dock landing. I swear this is the easiest job I’ve ever done for the pay. OTR drivers only make real money if they own their own trucks and company, other than that I’m pulling more in a 60hr work week than most that I know personally that are OTR. #TomTeam #Amazon

In some cases. From personal experience, OTR is for when you want to save up some money faster to accomplish a goal. Local is for those who value their life, have things going on outside the truck. If you work warehouse see if they have a CDL program before going to do OTR. Or find one that does. Right now if you do like driving OTR for the adventure then get on a lane where you’re hauling things that are necessary. Because everything else is scarce and you don’t want to be out weeks just to sit at truck stops. Haul things like beef, dairy etc.

I am surely working at the wrong place as a yard jockey. In Kansas national only paying 16 an hour. And wants us to work 12 hours 6 days a week. I am awake driving to and from work then awake at home. I need to find a better company to work for. It is a good line of fork if one can handle the stress of fast pace.
