Yes that’s right you can use the ES-link joiners to do that.

James thank you for the videos on YaMoRC. I was wondering if they make a board for reverse loops? I have an n-scale layout with 5 reverse loops in it and will be using Digitrax and Train Controller for my system.

Can i distribute the ES units around the layout and just use cables and do the same thing? I need five modules total, and that seems like a good idea if possible.

You an as long as the total length of the s88 cable connecting all the modules together does not go longer than 3meters.

Thanks for posting this video. I do not have one yet, but I am not clear about using as inputs for LocoNet sensors. My plan was to have a 10kohm resistor across the track (basically, using the common on the YD6016LN) with an inline switch (or momentary pushbutton) which would close to activate detection/input. Then I presume a LocoNet message would be generated for that input (LS17 is Active, for example) that could be used in JMRI with Logix to effect whatever I want (turnout, accessory, sound, script, etc). Or is it simpler than that by configuring the board differently (like the Turnout function)? Phil in gorgeous Young Harris, Georgia, USA

Where are these units drawing power from? Do you have to have the usb (?micro usb) plugged in to the Loconet unit to power them all? Cant see anywhere in the manuals about it!

Hello sir. So these units can be set up and firmware updates by the USB. Then when in operation and connect to loco-net they then get power from there. All the detection information is sent back to the command station over loco-net. The track power in the detection side then comes from the command station track power or the booster.

Would it be possible to do a comparison between the YD6016LN-CS and the DR4088LN-CS?

Thanks so much for those great videos! Those products look great and I'll definitely need to test them on my layout and on my blog. One thing that's still unclear to me though, is YaMorC's YaB approach (Yet Another Bus 😉) with the ES-Link. Although I love the idea of being able to configure/upgrade all modules through ES-Link, it's unclear (as already asked below by someone else about the S88 modules) when the ES-Link can be used in day to day operation, and not only for programming. So, say I decide to go with two YD6016LN-CS with Loconet (no S88 modules). Can I operate them with only one connected to the Loconet bus, but both modules connected together through ES-Link. If possible at all, and would I loose any functionality? Keep up the great videos!

Hi two YD6016LN do not connect through ES-Link amongst each other. Behind one YD6016LN one can link-up upto 5 YD6016ES by using either cable or ES-Link

Hi, when used as a feedback sensor, how does this work in a reversing loop situation? I want to place feedback sensors on a reversing loop block, where the polarity will change. At the moment, I use a GM auto reverse module, but what would be needed with the Yamorc unit?

Hello Ian yes this is possible but not with the reverse loop module you are using. Please call the shop to talk to us. I did a video on this years ago but need to up date that. As things have moved on a bit.

Hi, Can these devices be used with the DK DR4088LN devices? IE can it be plugged in via the CAT5e Cat6 Ethernet Cable? I currently have the combo kit from DK.

So you can set any address to the loconet version, but the connected S88’s are sequential starting at address 17. What if you have a 2nd setup with random addresses on that loconet device, won’t the S88’s also start with an address of 17 and so on ? Won’t there be a conflict of S88 addresses ?

You can not over lap addresses no.

yes you CAN address the s88 inputs independantly. but only when controlled by the YD6016LN. ;)

Is this product on sale

Very interesting. What type of switch would I need if I used two contacts for a turnout, and how would I wire it? Would a SPDT just conected to the two said contacts do the trick?

@@DCCtrainautomation Hi, a mtb mp5. I want to be able to operate the turnout from the z21 app, train controller and a manual switch. I know that if I assign one output to one turnout position and the other position to a 2nd output, then I might have to manually switch twice since moving the turnout on the app or train controller won't physically move the SPDT switch.

Hi James. Thanks for the useful video, however I am failing at the first step. When I plug by YD6016LN into my laptop via USB my computer recognises the device. However, when I open the configuration software it doesn't find the device and just says YD6016 via YDDEMO in the USB properties. I have installed the windows driver from the Yamorc website. I'd be grateful for any suggestions about where I'm goign wrong? Thanks!

There could be many reasons for this you plugged in the unit before you load the software and drivers. Would be the main on.

What is ES Link? Why use ES Link instead of S88N?

ES-link is for firmware updating of the unit. You can still use it as S88n

So, if I get it right, the only difference between this module and the Digikeijs module is the way to configure them. Operation-wise they are the same, correct?

Yes and no. They preform the same function yes. But the small issues that the DK loco net ones had has gone. Also they are all firmware updatable.
