Yamaha TW200 | How To Replace front turn signal bulbs | Plans for LED's
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
One of the running lamps on my Yamaha TW200 no longer works, however, the turn signal on that side still works. It could be a wiring issue but most of the time it's just a bad bulb. It could be different for the older TW200's but the newer ones use dual-filament bulbs for the front turn signals. I show you how to replace the bulb and share what my LED turn signal plans are for the future. Thanks for watching!
Disclaimer: work on and modify your bike at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your actions. Always use proper safety equipment for the job.
Note: The older TW200's may not have had running lamps so the bulbs could be different. My TW200 is 2014

TDK! Always look forward to your next video, kid. Your camera work is really top notch, whether close ups on how to videos, or drone footage on riding vids, etc. And there is something about the creative way you edit and produce your vids that really set them apart-even from other TDub channels I really enjoy. Keep it up, stay safe, enjoy your spring rides, stay unique, and thanks for all the fun content you give us. We’ll be on the look out for more talking rocks!

I did it shortly after I bought my TW coz mine were a wreck... Honestly, nothing impossible. Remove the front wheel, remove the brake links, remove the fork, put the new boots on and do the job backwards. I took the opportunity to change the front wheel bearings, fork seals, brake pads and fork oil for 15w instead of 10w. Honestly, 2 hours of work and 80€ for the parts if you search a bit for good prices. And I'm not a mechanic, just a simple biker with basic knowledge. But it might help everybody and it's valid for all dual purpose bikes. Greetings from a French grandpa living in Romania! :D

Love your video's! Keep in mind, all the power the lights do NOT use has to be dumped INTO the regulator/rectifier. The way most bike systems work is to clamp the voltage above about 14. something volts. The motor always puts out maximum power at any given rpm and what is not used in lights and so on has to be eliminated by the regulator. You can get a lot of extra power going LED but every watt you save goes into the regulator unless you use it elsewhere. The regulator might be designed to handle 75 watts and under normal use dump 50 watts. Going all led might have 200 watts going into it....

Hey thanks! That makes sense, we will see what happens to it. You can always add more stuff 🤩
Your videos are very valuable instruction. Yamaha should be sending you a regular paycheck. If you're thinking of future video subjects, consider doing a follow up on the DG v2 exhaust. I've been on the fence about this because I don't want to do it unless I get a definite power improvement. My TW currently just doesn't make it up some hills that I think it should. It certainly won't do a wheelie. But the quieter exhaust is easier on my family and neighbors. And the new hardware would not be cheap. So that's why I'm torn. If it got me up a bit more on the hills, I'd do it. But if I'm just spending more money for more decibels, I would pass. Especially if I have to also buy a quiet core for around the house. What can your bike can do with the DG that it couldn't do before? Has it messed with your ability to listen to music or has it irritated your family?
@TDubsKid
3 жыл бұрын
hey thank you! I appreciate that. yeah I am actually going to do a video on that. was going to do 0 to 60 tests with stock and dg to see if there is any difference. yeah its just not a power type of bike haha, there is also silencers for it that swap out in 30 seconds. yeah it will be interesting to see if there is any power difference at all. I wear earplugs so it doesn't mess with my hearing. even the wind noise on your helmet can cause hearing loss. family and neighbors don't seem to care at all

Here in Europe we don't have "running lights". My 92 TW 200 is just more basic than basic! But it works. Drum front brake, which is great off-road, and I run a front 80/100w bulb. No need of LEDs so far. Some maintenance is required soon though. Clutch for sure and maybe timing chain. I did the valve adjustment but it keeps ticking too much for my taste. Got to check it... 32 000km, maybe it's time to give it a full check up? Ride long, Ride safe!

Nice work! I did a full led upgrade on my klr and saved over 50 watts! That’s a whole lot of extra power for heated grips and usb chargers. And just a heads up for when you get to leds in the dash. If your tw has a single bulb on the dash that indicates that the blinkers are on you may have problem with all the blinkers running at once. The single bulb needs a diode setup installed so it doesn’t back feed the opposite circuit. I found mine on superbrightleds.com. Sorry if you already knew this I just wanted to share what I learned cause it took a while to figure it out. Also I have that tent! I love that thing!

hmmm not sure, only one way to find out. I doubt the quality is nearly as good as a Japanese bike but who knows maybe it will hold up. maybe someday ill pick one up and do a video on it just for fun haha. for sure, makes sense, as long as you can buy parts for them It might be worth it

Hey! I live in eastern Colorado and i had received a yamaha tw200 for my birthday! I was wondering, what are the best accessories for the tw200. (it is a 2004)

hey congrats on getting a TW200! that's a cool birthday present. depends on what you want and what your going to use it for. wide foot pegs, rack and handguards are good ones to start with. I got a bunch of vids on all the mods I did.
If you could do one a week thatd be amazing. Maybe just make some b roll. They all dont need to be the quality of a indie film. Although we do appreciate it and its amazing. I think you're in the wrong field. You should produce commercials, TV, adds etc.
